Meet Marc-yndy Pierre of Made To Move Training in Miami Dade

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marc-yndy Pierre.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
That’s a great question but I don’t think I have an exact starting point. I do, however, always thought I had a calling or gift to help people. I love the idea of one individual going from point A to point B, I love seeing a person perform a physical task that they weren’t used to do or have lost the ability to do so, I love seeing people taking care of their body, and I love seeing people not taking their health for granted. Since I was a young kid, I’ve always been swamped with the question how did you get a nice and a strong body? As a kid, I didn’t think too much of it, I would just answer them by saying: Just run and always stay active. It wasn’t really after high school that I wanted to answer the questions I often receive with legitimate information. So, of course, I begin reading about fitness and really try to sponge everything about fitness but that was fools gold because the more I learned, it’s the more I said to myself: I KNOW NOTHING, HAHAHA.

Till this day, I feel like that now just with more understanding. But right after high school, I begin to really help people especially high schoolers who wanted to get fast and strong because I myself was a former athlete who ran track, played soccer, played basketball, football, I understood what they wanted. So, I began by assisting the track team out of Palmetto and I would also help student or two from other schools, mind you, those were all pro bono work because I just wanted to help. It wasn’t until a student-athlete said to me: “coach, you are good at what you do, why don’t you get paid for it,” it was at that moment, I really started to acquire more athletes and charge them as little as 10$ time goes by.

A friend of mine gave me a gig to do strength and conditioning for her high school at FCS (Florida Christian High School) basketball team, that was a success for two years alongside with private clients. What I’m doing now is a small business MADE TO MOVE TRAINING who basically go to each hotels on the beach and discuss a contract with them where basically to train their residents as well as their guests who are on vacation. I didn’t really start doing what I’m doing now up until two years ago, but I’ve been training athletes or people who looking to lose belly fat or add on a couple of pounds of muscle for about eight years and counting. I now hold a contract with Four Seasons Hotels, preferred trainer list at FAENA ON SOUTH BEACH, and other condos on the beach. I am looking for more hotels to represent but that will come with time and hard work. The reason I do what I do is that Miami is so concentrated with so many trainers coming from various shape or form. I know it’s hard to dissect between who’s genuine or who’s a con man, that’s why I pride myself on giving the best workout one can get as well as the best customer service ever. My workouts are very simple, but at the same time, a heart-pumping experience followed by a warm down stretch with some much-needed ESSENTIALS OILS. Yes, there is a lot of trainers in Miami, but should you come across MADE TO MOVE TRAINING, I CAN ALMOST GUARANTEE, YOU WON’T FORGET OR PASS ON FROM ME. Whether you are looking for 1-1, group training, or a preferred grainier for your hotel or condos, without a doubt, I can be of assistance.

Has it been a smooth road?
Smooth road, no!! I’ve come to faced many obstacles as well as personal challenges. I didn’t always have clients as I have now. I remember times where I did not have any clients and I would literally training people for basically free, I remember times I would do free Bootcamp’s just to see if someone would become a client. So, no, it hasn’t been the easiest task because I believe in myself, I accept the tough times. I remember one summer, where I thought I would be swimming with how many clients I would have, turned out no one wanted to train, so I ended up having to get a side job, writhing those time frames because it’s so hard, you often question your purpose. It’s in those times also you’ll find your stronger self-worth.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Made To Move Training – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I am a personal trainer, not just your average trainer, a trainer who preferred to contract with hotels and condos. When a hotel needs a trainer, they typically have a list but what I do is becoming that hotel sole provider of that service, whether it’d be 1-1 training group training, Bootcamps, etc. I am proud of the fact that I can provide for my family, I am proud of the fact those I’ve worked with truly sees the value of what I do, I am proud of the fact that I am doing what I love. I believe not every trainer will be the guy you are looking for, but I pride myself to tailoring each workout to that individual needs because one size does not fit all. I specialized in strength and conditioning as well as weight loss. Being a former athlete, I believe to look like an athlete you must train like one.

How would you describe the type of kid you were growing up?
Growing up was an unforgettable experience. I grew up without a mom or dad, so from the beginning, I knew life was going to be difficult nor did I have a father figure to teach me otherwise, but by the grace of God, there were older man and woman who would be at a distance that would come in at different chapters whom I was able to to learn what a man/woman looks like, what a dad/mom looks like. How one was supposed to behave under certain circumstances. I migrated from Haiti to the U.S. at the age of 10 and stayed with my older sister whom I’m forever grateful for, though things didn’t go as planned on both sides. I am forever grateful for her because without her help and I don’t think I would be here today or even alive. Growing up has always been a challenge, suffering from identity issues and voids that has been left from the lack of not having a mother and father, but it made me realize to be grateful for what you have because life is short and every great gift doesn’t last forever.
