Meet Dr. Maan Dhanjal

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Maan Dhanjal.

Dr. Maan, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
When I was a senior in undergrad, I suffered an injury to my neck and back playing basketball. I went to the emergency room and saw variety of doctors who prescribed muscle relaxers and pain medications, but I was not getting any better and I was frustrated. It affected every part of my life. One day, a friend recommended seeing a chiropractor and my first thought was “what’s a chiropractor?” I decided to give it a shot and went to my very first chiropractic visit. I laid down on the table and the doctor performed a chiropractic adjustment on my spine. I got off the table and was surprised at having no pain for the first time in weeks. I asked him “what did you just do to me?” and he responded, “I just changed your life”. And that was it, it literally changed my life. I did some research into the profession, changed my major and applied to chiropractic schools. The applications were due the following Monday, so I knew if I mailed it, it wouldn’t reach on time, so I drove 3 hours to New York Chiropractic College and hand-delivered my application and the rest is history. I fell in love with the profession and have never regretted my decision for a single moment. After graduating, I moved to South Florida and started my practice. I have been in business for over 7 years now. We are based in Coral Springs and serve the residents of Broward County.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Everybody has challenges in life, but what you chose to do when faced with those challenges defines you for the rest of your life. I was raised by a single mother and being the oldest child, I felt an obligation to take care of my family. I had a full-time job throughout school, and professional colleges are very rigorous, so things were difficult. After graduating and getting my license, starting up my own office was challenging as well. I had moved to Florida, it was a new city, new people, new environment, but putting in long hours, working hard, and being determined on my goals helped me get to where I am today. What has been easy for me is my desire to help people with chiropractic care. This reflects in my practice because the majority of new patients are being referred to me by word of mouth which is very fulfilling and validates that we are providing good patient care in our office.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
We treat patients with joint pain, sciatica nerve pain, stiff joints from
arthritis, sports injuries, auto accident whiplash, headaches/migraines, and many other pains. And we do it without the use of medications, injections or surgery. Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I have been fortunate to have some good luck on my side – being in the right place at the right time. The remainder was hard work, providing great care and staying focused on my mission to help as many as I can.
