Thanks for sharing your story with us Luisana. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
First of all, I’d like to confess that this wasn’t a planned vision. I’m an independent professional Venezuelan woman that came to the States a couple of years ago with my family simply looking for the opportunity of a better life. Fashion and design have always been a hidden passion of mine, but they weren’t driving my professional goals back in my country.
Then again, after I arrived at Vero Beach, something hit me: I saw this beautiful welcoming place with the gentlest and kind people, but it didn’t feel immediately like home. I knew that if I’d ever wanted to feel like home again, I would have to bring a little bit of it to my surroundings. So, I started experimenting, imagining, visualizing things from childhood and mixing it with designs that I believe bring something different and attractive to a woman here in the States. What exactly does it bring? An obtainable uniqueness. A way to shine among your peers wearing visions of a stylish Caribbean that I called home.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I can’t complain. Coming from where I am, seeing the struggles that my people suffer in my country I have to say that the journey that brings here doing something that I’m truly passionate about has been a blessed one. Of course, it had bumps on the road, still does; The idiomatic barrier has not been entirely overcome and the homesickness strikes every now and then. But having a strong supportive family, having my husband behind me, having my mother counseling me, having my kids inspiring me, I believe it’s all the help I’ll ever need to continue this amazing voyage.
LPL – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
As I mentioned, I believe I offer a way to shine. I love to design jewelry, I love using a lot of pearls in my work symbolizing exactly that: a woman coming out of their shelves with elegance and a unique style that has a lot of influence of the foreign exotic country. I think my clients really appreciate this thrive that we have to offer something that you don’t see often in our streets. Also, they feel pampered by our personal treatment because that’s the only way I know how to work. I commit to my clients giving them the opportunity to create with me the vision they want to wear.
So, what should we be on the lookout for, what’s next in store for you?
I’d love to continue our organic growth. I want to expand to other markets besides Vero Beach without losing the personality of our brand. Of course, I imagine my work in stores all around the USA, but my main focus is to spread our vision, offering something different and appealing to every one of our clients. It’s a tricky thing I know, but I really do think it’s very doable. All we have to do is stay true to our values, to ourselves and hope for the best. I know that formula has taken me already a long way from home.
