Today we’d like to introduce you to Liza Lozano.
Liza, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
It was a project I started with my Dad JC Lozano, he had a heart attacked and was in a coma for 18 months. I worked thru this time finishing what we had started together.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It wasn’t easy to not have him to guide me, it was a large project. It was difficult to explain my vision and I got a lot of you’re crazy that will never work, a bed in an ice cream shop? Sofas? Doesn’t sound like something people will like.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Sweet Servings Ice Cream Bar – what should we know?
We’re the only SWEETHEARTS ice cream shop in Miami. We have a grown up vibe, great for first dates or a night out with your special someone. We make FANCY shakes all of our menu items have names the pertain to relationships, pet names, etc. we have brownies like Mr.50 it’s a pie crust Nutella brownie with your choice of ice cream and a Nutella cigar, or sundaes like The Gold-digger butterscotch vanilla with pound cake, The Nice Guy, The Hook Up salted caramel, over bacon cheddar potato chips chocolate covered pretzels and a hard chocolate shell. We have our SWEETHEARTS walls we tried recreating the traditional carving your names into a tree. We also have our singles wall for those “looking 4 the Cherry 2 their Sundae” we have games and music.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I believe my success is all due to the support system I have, but above all my father’s trust in my vision and creativity is what kept me going.
