Meet Leslie Ventura

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leslie Ventura.

Leslie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’m currently 19 years old. My parents are both Honduran. My mom comes from such a humble home and although we don’t have much our love is everlasting. I’m a farm girl at heart because of theirs nothing more that I love than being at my grandma’s! Seeing where my mom comes from and all she’s been through has to be my greatest motivation to make sure I GET IT! I will always give all praise to God because I’m forever and grateful for all the doors he’s opened for me. My whole journey really started last year. I always loved the camera but was also very shy and insecure about a lot of things. Growing up, I couldn’t really wear everything that petite girls wore because I was constantly judged. Not only by family but I just always felt like eyes were on my and would make me get anxiety.

Once I started high school, I started finding myself and just learning to love myself and how I look. I did my first shoot with the photographer BPL Productions and it just awoke something in me I never felt before. I was so nervous and didn’t really know how to strike a pose but he made me feel comfortable and I was all in. After that shoot, it opened up so many opportunities from doing music videos and getting the chance to work with so many photographers. I can honestly say I’m blessed because my schedule is very hectic but somehow, someway, I still managed to get in front of these cameras and work. I just finished school to become a medical assistant and currently work three jobs.

Has it been a smooth road?
Criticism. I felt like my every move was being watched. Not in a good way. Someone always had something negative to say or tell me why am I posting in baiting suits. I am now so comfortable in my own skin and will embrace it forever

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I just finished school to become a medical assistant and currently work three jobs. Hospital in the morning and MRI office in the afternoon. Weekends, I’m a manager at Chuck E. Cheese. I would really love to be on YouTube and become a vlogger because I feel like I can talk for days on days. Everything comes with time and I’m not rushing it. I have to make sure I’m established and sturdy on the ground before I devote myself 100% into YouTube. I will continue to do shoots and get my name out there so one day everyone knows my name. It gets hard juggling it all but I will just continue to self motivate myself and make sure I don’t give up!

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I’m not really located in Miami, therefore, I feel like my opportunities were set back a little due to not always having rides and with my schedule. I think Miami is a great city to start because it’s just full of opportunities and who doesn’t love to shoot at Wynwood!
