Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Leon Egozi.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am a general surgeon in practice in South Florida for 25 years. Over the last few years, I have incorporated functional/regenerative or personalized medicine into my surgical practice. I became board certified and fellowship trained in functional medicine and then began treating my surgical patients with my newly aquired knowlegde. This type of medicine focuses on natural lifestyle changes using supplements, vitamins, diet, exercise and bioidentical hormones instead of traditional medications. It focuses on treating the root cause of an illness.
I am now the only board certified functional medicine surgeon in South Florida.
Has it been a smooth road?
The main struggle with medicine today is insurance companies!
Please tell us more about what you do, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
Besides functional medicine and surgery, I also treated excessive sweating conditions called hyperhidrosis. I am a specialist in breast surgery and breast cancer surgery. I have incorporated functional medicine in the treatment of breast cancer with diet and supplements in addition to conventional therapies.
What do you know now that you wish you knew when you were just starting out?
It is difficult to say since the world of medicine has changed so much over the last few years.
