Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Chirino.
Laura, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I grew up and currently reside in Miami Florida. My passion for art began at a very young age. As a child I was surrounded by art and music, along with the beauty of the Southeast landscape, inspiring my interest in fine art.
After many years of painting in watercolors, I moved forward experimenting with abstracts in various mediums. This pushed me to expand my horizons and tap into new areas of painting I had not yet explored. There was an obvious freedom and personal expression with abstraction and it was then that I really began to flourish. I was deeply interested in the effects of color, texture and the emotional response to strong composition and design. By removing the representational and creating something that told a story without an observational subject matter was very exciting.
Today my work is a bold mix of styles, ranging from sleek and contemporary to weathered and organic. I bring a subtle and sophisticated feel to my paintings through a unique balance of color, composition, and texture.
Moving forward to today, I’ve had the opportunity of working with global brands and lifestyle experts in the most unique of projects and countries. Being a versatile artist has allowed me to participate in different facets of the artistic world, those including, live art paintings, murals for beachfront properties around the globe, custom art for the most diverse stories and teamed up with Fortune 500 companies. Most importantly, its allowed me to participate in countless charities all while expressing my gratitude through art.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
At the beginning of anyone’s career, you encounter struggles of insecurity, uncertainty and the “what if’s”. Like any artist, I received rejection from potential clients, I worked countless hours for pro-bono projects in hopes for potential and future work only to be disappointed at the end but these same events actually pushed me further, made my skin thicker, taught me to value myself and my work. Today that is the fundamental of my success, the downs that pushed me to my highs.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the LC Original Paintings story. Tell us more about the business.
LC Original Paintings is a Miami Based art studio focusing on a diverse style of art. I specialize in texture within the art, layering different tones of color and creating pieces that represent a mood by color. My sense of style is known for being abstract and a bit of impressionism.
A few of my most proud accomplishments include being able to create art pieces for companies like Coca-Cola,. Jameson Whiskey, Blue Moon and participated in events like the Miami Boat Show and Art Basel Miami.
That my art goes beyond the canvas and I truly connect with my clients on a personal level and can represent their feelings and emotions through color.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I think luck is something you attract when your energy is In the right place. Thankfully I’ve learned to be grateful for things that come my way and I’ve shifted bad situations into good ones which in exchange has brought me good luck. I guess my paint brushes are my good luck charms!
