Today we’d like to introduce you to Latesha Wilson.
Latesha, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
It started off doing hair on my own, then I studied at Miami lakes doing cosmetology over 10 years ago. Over the years, I got bored and started to take interest in doing makeup. I’ve been doing makeup for 6 years now. I am a self-taught makeup artist but over the years, I’ve become really good at what I do when applying makeup on myself as well as my clients.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
As a makeup artist, the roads wasn’t always smooth. I felt like giving up but the spirit inside me just wouldn’t allow me to. I’ve had people telling me, they didn’t like their makeup, but being an artist or doing any type of everyone is not going to like your work and that’s why I’ve had an amazing amount of people who love my work. I do makeup but I also change people’s lives. But, that goes alone with business.
Touched by Tesha owner of “Uniquebeautyblend” – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Well, I specialize in almost everything photo shoots, weddings, birthdays any special occasion. I’m known for my bold and colorful looks which I pushed myself into because everyone is not comfortable with wearing bright and bold colors. So, what sets me apart from the rest is, I don’t just focus on the outer beauty, but when I’m applying makeup on my clients, I also try my best to uplift each client inner spirit while working on the outer beauty.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Being consistent is the only way to success. If not, you will never find success.
