Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Worthy.
Kimberly, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’m a wife and mother of three boys. I started my first business, Worthy & Worthy Creations three years ago. Worthy & Worthy’s creations started with me creating customized and personalized items for my clients. Those items include tiles, cups, glasses, etc. I slowly began adding customized t-shirts for family reunions, birthday parties and clubs. I soon realized my love for creating t-shirt designs. That side of my business blossomed beyond my imagination. It soon grew into me having thoughts of my very own ladies clothing line but just didn’t know where to start.
I thought long and hard about it then I said to myself “You never know how it will come out until you try”. So, I brainstormed names for the line. It had to be something strong, something ladies would love. I thought about Hustle because as women that’s all we do is Hustle for our family, no matter what it is you do. That what makes us queens. Then I had it Hustle Queen!
July 19, 2019 Hustle Queen Apparel LLC was born!!! The name itself gives you life! As the day to hustle gives most women life. Women work hard for their families and Hustle Queen Clothing allows them to show off how much of a Queen they are.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I waited weeks to hear that my incorporation of Hustle Queen Apparel LLC has been approved. I had created so many designs, not knowing if the Hustle Queen Apparel LLC name would be mine. However, I had the faith that what’s for me, is for me. I knew God would see me through it all.
I stressed day and night thinking, I have all these designs and no approval yet. Meanwhile, that didn’t stop me or all the ideas I had flowing from me. The struggles were real, seriously I was a nervous wreck. Should I be thinking of another name? A month went by, with no approval. Finally, I got an email saying the Hustle Queen Apparel LLC name was mine. They even backdated it to when I submitted it. I shed tears of joy!
That was just the beginning, I have a name, now what’s next! The struggle got even more real. My biggest fear was putting it out to the world but I set a roll out date to hold myself to, September 21, 2019, that was the day I would roll out everything. Time to get to work! I did a photo shoot at Villa Maria Christa in Miramar Florida. I rented out her estate and my photographer was Yani with Life Stories Photo Studio. I had models, a Slingshot vehicle and my assistant Ashley Hernandez there.
That came with many struggles; having never done anything like this, I had to pull it off without a hitch. That required making sure we had enough models, in case some backed out before the shoot. We did have models quit before the shoot which put me in a bind, but I still pulled it off.
That day, September 15th was the second biggest struggle I ever had but the photoshoot came out wonderful. I know there will be more struggles along the way because I’m just getting started but you learn from them and you keep moving along.
Tell us more about the business.
Hustle Queen Apparel, LLC is a women’s clothing line specializing in comfortable clothing. We produce clothes that can be worn out on a date and to the gym. They can easily be styled with a pair of nice heels or gym shoes. I’m known for my creativity which I use to design the images that go on the garments. Hustle Queen represents my creative side; I put my ideas together to produce a masterpiece on the garment. I’m most proud of the work invested in and the commitment to Hustle Queen add to that, Hustle Queen clothing is made right here in the USA, in the state of California. My commitment to helping women feel good about themselves sets me apart from others. Remember “Females are the Future”.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Luck has played no role. It’s all God and faith. Through God and Faith, I plan to grow my Hustle Queen Apparel brand nationally. I want to be a household name, for people to know how a woman like myself, with a job and three kids, started her own business and didn’t let anything stop her in the process. Hustle Queen is already looking forward to New York Fashion Week. I have two approvals to feature my collection in the show in Sept. 2020. I can’t wait, I’m super excited for 2020.
