Kelly, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
From a young age, I was captivated with fashion and developed a deep love of clothes, shoes and accessories. I spent countless hours poring over fashion magazines discovering my own style. The thrill of finding the perfect piece and styling outfits became my passion and an outlet for creative expression. However, when I went to college, I was on a budget and was unable to spend a lot of money on clothes. It was then that I discovered how to scout affordable retailors to achieve the look for less.
Now with two young children, I continue to stay stylish on a budget more than ever. Over the years, countless friends have complimented my style, asking me how they too can achieve the look for less. I found I enjoyed sharing my passion and wanted to find an avenue to help a woman on a much larger scale.
One night I decided to take a leap of faith and turn my passion into what is now known as @cleverlychicblog. @cleverlychicblog is an inclusive space for women to access styling tips, affordable fashion, and beauty finds. Its goal is to champion other women and inspire them to be their best selves.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Due to the fact that I am not a millennial, learning to navigate the world of social media was a bit daunting. However, I do not give up easily and I researched the resources to help me overcome this obstacle.

@cleverlychicblog is and Instagram page that I launched in 2019. It specializes in teaching women how to look chic in an effortless way. In addition, it educates my followers on affordable fashion finds, sales, beauty tips and tricks, and style advice. I truly care about my followers and enjoy the relationships I have made with them.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I personally define success as using the gifts God gave me to honor him and help others. He gave me a gift of creativity and a passion for spreading love to others. I pray that through a love of fashion, woman can come together in the uplifting space that is @cleverlychicblog.
