Today we’d like to introduce you to Joseph Latuf.
Joseph, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My story starts in college, I was the youngest of 3 boys in school. My parents made just enough to not really qualify for assistance but not enough to afford to help me out much. So I worked a full 40/hr. a week job as well as a part time job while taking a full class schedule to pay for school. I was taught at a very young the value of hard work. Fast forward to graduation, I had no real job prospects, finally Kforce offered me an opportunity. I knew nothing about the staffing/recruitment industry. I moved down to South Florida not knowing any one and not really understanding what my job responsibilities were going to be. Six years later I am one of the top producers in our market.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. I moved to South Florida not knowing anyone in a people focused business. I had to hustle with late nights attending networking events trying to create a brand for myself in order to be successful.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Kforce – what should we know?
I work for Kforce Professional Staffing – we specialize in the placement of professionals in the IT, Finance & Accounting area. I particularly work in the IT space from CIO level to technical support and everything in between. We have been in business for 50 years and have been publicly traded for the last 20. We are not just another staffing firm, we take the time to not only understand our clients’ needs and provide specialized solutions, but also focus on our candidates to match their career requirements.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My team has played a big part in my success. Our business model is set up as a team environment. You cannot be a “one man team” in this business. Whether it’s guiding me on how to best approach a problem or just “talking me off the ledge” after a bad day, my team has been an integral part of my growth.
