Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Dorsey.
Jordan, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Flying drones, taking breathtaking pictures and making money are all things that I love to do, so one day I asked myself; why not do it all, at the same time? That’s basically when AirSnap was formed.
I bought a drone, took a class on how to fly it, learned how to edit and process videos, built my own website and got to work.
At first, it was all just fun and games, but then the calls started pouring in and I saw just how big of a need there was (and still is) for Aerial Photography in the South Florida area.
Has it been a smooth road?
Personally for me, there has been such a huge demand, that my main struggle is balancing AirSnap with my Airline Pilot job. Way before starting this company, flying airplanes was and still is my main passion in life.
I currently fly Commercial Jets for an Airline based in Chicago, so as you can probably imagine, it is tough making the commute to Florida and balancing my time between AirSnap and my pilot job.
I’m currently in search of another drone pilot that lives in South Florida to help with the growing demand.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
At AirSnap, we specialize in Real Estate Aerial Photography for the South Florida area.
Although we focus on that area, we have the ability to travel anywhere in the U.S. and abroad to work on almost any project no matter how large or small.
We also work with construction companies, weddings and other special events that would like photography from a unique perspective.
AirSnap utilizes state of the art drones that allow us to fly where Aerial Photography helicopters and airplanes can’t, for a fraction of the cost!
The main thing that sets us apart from others, as stated above, is that we don’t use helicopters or airplanes for our aerial photography, so the prices are much cheaper for our clients. All of our cameras operate with 4K quality and we guarantee, that if you are not satisfied with our work, you will receive a full refund.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Of all of the places in the world that I have operated a drone, including Mexico, Costa Rica and even Thailand, I can honestly say that Miami is the best place for a drone business.
South Florida has some of the most beautiful homes and condos in the world, which means the real estate market is booming, which in turn, creates the need for Aerial Photography to showcase these beautiful homes.
If someone wanted to start their own Drone Photography company, I would say Miami is a great place to do it. There’s enough clientele to go around so there’s not a feeling of rivalry between myself and other Drone businesses in the area, we actually work and learn from each other quite often.
