Today we’d like to introduce you to Johnny Olsen.
Johnny, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started exercising in the early 1970s and started competing in 1975, I have been into health and fitness for parts of six decades now, I owned my first gym outside of Boston back in 1993. I opened Johnny O’s Gymnasium in February 2020 in Boca Raton, Florida, approximately six weeks before the COVID shut down. We are a very unique facility, we are the largest indoor/outdoor facility in South Florida with a covered field turf area outside of 10,000 ft.².
From the moment you enter the facility, you will notice immediately it’s different than any other gym you’ve been in. There is no fluorescent lights, we have a light show and music that is encouraging to workout and the atmosphere is extremely conducive to results. In the short time that we have been opened, we have been the choice workout facility for many NFL football players. Johnny O’s Gymnasium is the best results-driven club you could possibly join, the vibe here put you on a different level excelling you to success.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Obviously, COVID-19 is a massive struggle that everybody in the world has had to deal with, we have been no different. We were literally open six weeks before we were forced to close down for two months. However, because of our outdoor covered area, many people have decided to join us because there is no safer environment than training outdoors and no other facility has what we offer!
So many members have come to me and said I haven’t flipped a tire in 20 years and to be able to do that again and many other exercises and to be working out outdoors is something that was very well needed in Florida!
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Johnny O’s Gymnasium – what should we know?
Again what sets us apart from every other gym in the country is no one has a covered outdoor workout facility like Johnny O’s Gymnasium! Where else can you work out 365 days a year outdoors without having direct sunlight on you and never having a rain cancellation, we specialize in group exercise and it is all done outdoors, so we have become the go to gym for safe outdoor training!
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Hands-on, we understand that every one of our members has many choices they can make for a workout facility. We are extremely appreciative that they have decided to join Johnny O’s Gymnasium. Our training staff is second to none, their experience in working with clients and getting results is what they are known for.
