Hi Jia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born in the mountainous region of Yunnan in China, where tea originated. Up until 2020, I was working as a Neuroscientist at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Bearing witness to some of the negative consequences of Western medicine, my mission became helping people through the art of drinking tea.
The Mission
With today’s fast-paced and stressful lifestyle, Tea Tell Truth believes that spending a few minutes to brew loose tea leaves will help connect you with your inner self. Tea is unlike any beverage due to its positive effects on mental and physical health.
My family has developed lifelong partnerships with tea farmers and tea masters in my home country. Yunnan Tea Farmers provide authentic and traditional processing that results in an unmatched taste and level of quality.
Tea Tell Truth focuses specifically on ‘Puerh’ Tea, which is a high-quality tea from Yunnan. This tea is healthy because it is brewed with post-fermented tea leaves. Fermentation significantly improves its health benefits.
The aim is to bring the most authentic tea on the market. Tea Tell Truth considers every detail that goes into your cup. Tea is Mother Nature’s greatest gift and it should be treated with great care and respect. Every single step and detail matters when producing and preparing tea.

Of course, it is not a smooth road. But it is the beauty of being an entrepreneur. We would love to share with more people about our tea products and tea wellness programs. We just moved to Florida last year. So marketing and more exposure in Florida will be very helpful. Also, we do wholesale tea products. We are interested in expanding business with some local stores and restaurants or cafes.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I use to be a doctor in China before I came to the US 12 years ago. I had done Gene Therapy Research at UMASS medical school in MA for 11 years.
Tea Tell Truth LLC was founded in 2018. I quit my job in Feb. 2022.
Because Tea is my passion. I believe the tea lifestyle can help more people physically and mentally.
I am proud I made that decision and I went back to China for four months and work with tea farmers and tea masters. That’s the soul and roots of my business.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Keep open for every collaboration opportunity. Let the passion drive me through all up and down in the business. Also, trust some friends who have the strength that I don’t have. Let them help me.
