Today we’d like to introduce you to Jervonte Edmonds.
Established in 2016, our vision is to inspire a generation of youth to fulfill the highest level of life achievement possible through discovery and development of their inherent gifts. While the benefits of youth mentoring programs have been widely heralded in recent years, many young people who would benefit greatly from these activities simply do not have access to quality programs due to their enrollment in schools within socioeconomically disadvantaged communities. We help bridge that gap.
Our organization was founded in 2015 by Jervonte Edmonds, who had witnessed firsthand the importance of image and how it can create a positive mindset. Mr. Edmonds knows without the guidance and mentorship he received in his life he would not be able to stand where he is now and thus has become passionate about helping other youths achieve the same success. Having demonstrated his leadership ability throughout his academic and professional career
The purpose of Suits for Seniors is to empower the community’s graduating high school seniors by providing them with their own, tailored, business suits. There is an abundant number of students who are being deprived of opportunities to excel in the professional realm, simply because they do not have access to the proper and necessary attire and resources. However, Suits for Seniors goes beyond simply providing professional attire. Our organization couples this effort with the delivery of innovative youth development programming, including a variety of career exploration opportunities and leadership training.
Suits for Seniors has quickly increased capacity through the generous gifts of our community supporters. Since our inception, we have successfully implemented our program within 19 area high schools,
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has definitely been a tough journey
1. Connecting and networking with people who I could not necessary relate to.
2. Learning the ins and outs of running a corporation (governance, grant writing, payroll expenses, legal matters, etc.)

Our mission is guided by the concept of image enhancement from the inside and out. In helping change their image, we can elevate our youth to better career opportunities, personal fulfillment and a life filled with promise.
We offer a 6-8 week mentoring program that teaches; financial literacy, entrepreneurship, life skills, mental health, how to deal with law enforcement, career and college readiness.
I am most proud of our 100% high school graduation completion rate for over 700 graduates.
We set ourselves apart and are known for our students being leaders and the best dressed young professionals around.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success but aiming high and achieving whatever goal you set forth in life. Everyone has their different version of success but I believe once you reach true personal fulfillment and use all your god given talents that is success.
