Meet Jennifer Sanchez of Infinite Creations

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Sanchez.

Jennifer, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Infinite Creations started for one reason: drive. The drive of doing what I love, and chasing it no matter what. It didn’t matter if that meant being faced with unpredictable risks.

For 12 years I was the creative director for a large advertising firm, and I learned about it all. Too much to even think about. I was so immersed in it that I never had time to think about my own goals and desires outside of it. I was being taught what I needed to know to be able to start Infinite Creations, but never had even thought about it as something that could actually happen.

And I think that can be attributed to comfort. And it’s what happens to many people. You know, you start fresh in a new place, you get something going, you’re happy and next thing you know, you’ve hit a plateau. You go nowhere. But there comes a point, I think, in everyone’s career, when that comfort is not enough. They don’t want the easy way in. They want a challenge. Prove-it-to-themselves type of thing.

And I was at that point in my career. Not anymore.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Is it ever a smooth road? If it were, it wouldn’t be fun!

Starting something from scratch, especially a new company, is never easy, and the success you envision at the beginning can seem so far away. You can’t think about that.

At Infinite Creations we are wedding photographers. It’s what we have a drive for and want to provide for those starting new chapters in their lives. But it’s not always the easiest thing to do when you’re just getting started. Why? The almighty portfolio. It’s difficult getting brides/couples to trust you for documenting their day when you don’t have a strong portfolio. Completely understand and respect that.

It is a bummer, however, when they seek photographers based on popularity in the market. I believe that because a photographer is well established, and has a lot of business, that in no way, shape, or form means that they will be the best for you and your taste.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Infinite Creations story. Tell us more about the business.
Documenters. That is what the team at Infinite Creations are. We’re not there to time track; we’re not there to shoot one part of the wedding and leave; and we’re definitely not there only to put people in group shots. On that day, we’re in it together–the running around, the crying, the dancing, the crazy families–we’re there for all of it.

We document any special day, but specialize in Multicultural and LGBT markets. And what I am most proud of are also the things that set Infinite Creations apart from others. For one, we come as a team, all experienced in delivering what we promise. This allows us to capture the events of your day not only through one pair of eyes, but two or three. Each with a unique style that will give you a special look at your day.

Another thing I am proud of is that we give you photographs in digital high resolution. No watermarks, no restrictions. Those are your photos of your day, and you can do with them what you want. It is our gift to you.

The thing I am most proud of though is what we focus on. During your special day there are BIG moments that we will of course capture, but it’s the small things we see on that day that we choose to focus on. Because we know on a busy day like that, it’s hard to appreciate everything that is going on.

We’re also not going to take up all your time with group shots. No no no, that is your day to enjoy and to not waste time with such. That’s why we’re there–to document the LITTLE things that you will look back on one day and realize they were the big things.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Miami, though a competitive photographer city, is a growing one and there is a lot of opportunity to get your name out there. As long as you work for it and want it. That and that you don’t mind the notorious Miami weather!
