Meet Jehiel Russo of Aventura and Bal Harbour

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jehiel Russo.

Hi Jehiel, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
At the age of 18, I moved into the US for college. It was a big transition leaving my family, my home, and everything I ever knew. It had its series of challenges, but little by litte, I was overcoming each one. That followed with great successes too, like graduating on Graphic Design and Marketing, getting my first job, and getting my Greencard. I’m thankful for everything that has happened to me; the victories (allowed me to enjoy and feel accomoplished) and the tough times (allowed me to learn from the experience and do better in the future).

Two years ago, I noticed online the company Best Version Media and connected right away with their team, tasks, and core values. I did my training and, shortly after, launched my first ever magazine, called Bal Harbour Neighbors. What we do its much more than just community magazines, its a sense of connection and belonging, something that has been great success for our company for the last 19 years. Besides that, we manage the online aspect of the client and make sure that their business is constantly seen and remembered on print and online.

After seeing that the publication was growing and I was helping many businesses in the area, I decided to launch a second publication in Aventura. It just made sense, I wanted to keep growing and this is the area where I live and the community I’m part of. Subsequently, I was able to launch it 3 months ago and it’s been great. I’m looking forward to building on this momentum, achieving greater things ahead, and connecting with even more businesses.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. Doing something new always has the adabtability process. At the beginning you have to do trial and error a lot. I deal with a lot of people and thankfully most of them have been great, but there’s always those 2 or 3 that are unsatisfied and will eventually complain no matter the results. I always try my best to accomodate my clients and offer the best service possible.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
As a publisher of 2 publications in Bal Harbour and Aventura my work is based on sales and personal relations. I do a lot of cold calls, emails, contacting people on social media, going to networking events, and knocking on doors.

I am very proud of my willingness to assist others. I try to have the outmost respects and patience, no matter how difficult the other party can be, while offering the best solution for them. Also, I consider myself very perseverant. I do lots of follow ups, calls, emails, passing by, notes in the calendar, etc. I don’t quit easily and I try to look for ways to achieve my goals.

Any big plans?
Well, I’m excited to see what Aventura Living is becoming and keep on growing and helping these communities.
