Meet Jeff Malo of M.M.E Productions in Miami Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeff Malo.

Jeff, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started out at the age of 18. I left for LA and worked odd jobs here and there. I lived in places like Compton and in a trailer on Route 66. I first started out as an actor but lost my job at a boutique hotel and had to pack my bags and go home. I started getting involved in small little film projects in the local Miami area. I ended up producing a film that went on to international festivals including India where I attended for the in-competition platform for short films. The film, “Legacy of man”, went onto win several awards and nominations. I went to all the major film markets in the U.S and across seas including AFM. I decided I wanted to make money with what I was doing and got a gig by chance at the Food Network on a TV show called, Food Quest. I had the opportunity to do some associate producing to build my resume up, eventually, I decided to become a freelancer content producer. My latest gig was shooting a promo video for Phil Collins upcoming Latin America tour. Going forward, I attached my self to a really cool series called, “Whats More Important”, which I had the opportunity to help with. We look forward to bringing it to serious markets and having it sold and or distributed!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has been a road most people would have usually given up on but for some reason, I cannot help myself but to continue no matter what the cost or sacrifice. Filmmaking is a part of who I am as a person. You could say it defines who I am and what I seek to achieve. I have been fired, broke, heartbroken, all of the above. The film industry can be very difficult. I have had days where I am starving and days where I am feasting. It comes in waves but hard work is what shines through.

Please tell us about M.M.E Productions.
The company is mostly surrounded by me. I am a content producer/associate producer, there is no real label hence, I can or have done every job that would be on and or off the set. I specialize in creating content that is able to engage the audience or fans that can pierce the soul. I also am usually hired for positions that require going into a hellfire of a set or production job and clean up messes and steer the ship straight. What really sets me apart is the ability to go into any situation with little to no information and create a really cinematic and engaging story and or content. I also am extremely hungry and aggressive at what I do, never taking no for an answer.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Wouldn’t change a thing. The journey is the best part. You live and you learn.
