Meet Jasmine Han of Boca Heaven Spa in Boca Raton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Han.

Jasmine, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I moved down to sunny Florida from New Jersey 12 years ago and Boca Heaven Spa is my third spa in Florida. Over the years I saw an opportunity to bring the Korean spa culture down here to South Florida as no one else was doing it. My husband and I decided Boca Raton was the perfect neighborhood to build our business and we designed the spa ourselves including the decor.

We had all our massage beds custom built and had a lot of fun painting the walls ourselves as well. This spa is very near and dear to me and reminds me that with hard work, you can make dreams come true.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Managing a business is never easy, especially because it involves people! I have been a business owner for over 20 years and I still don’t find it “easy” managing the employees and making sure everyone is getting along, but it’s also the people that keep the work interesting and worthwhile.

Even with the many years of experience, there is always something to learn!

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Boca Heaven Spa – what should we know?
Our spa’s specializes in Korean Body Scrubs and Deep Tissue Massage. The process involves sitting in the steam room or dry sauna to soften the dead skin cells for easier scrubbing, then a thorough full body scrubbing with a thin loofah with a sandpaper-like texture (made specifically for Korean body scrubs)– to rid the body of all the dirt and layers of dead skin that naturally build up on the top layers of the skin over time.

Korean body scrubs are easier to come by in New York, New Jersey, and California where the Korean population is more dense and large active communities are present, but I have yet to find one in South Florida. Proper Korean Body Scrubs and saunas are an important part of Korean culture and I am happy to share that with my South Florida community.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
The most important factor in success in business is to focus on each customer, give them your full undivided attention, try your best to meet their needs, and make sure they leave satisfied and wanting a second visit.

The best advertisement you can get that is sure to bring in new customers is by making sure your existing ones are happy with your service- they will do the advertising for you. I find that people still trust word of mouth over an advert they see online. When dealing with customers I always try to keep them relaxed and comfortable, since that’s why they came to being with.
