Meet Jaclyn Bild

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaclyn Bild.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Jaclyn. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was born and raised in Miami and grew up in a real estate home. Since my father is an engineer and real estate investor, and back then my mother was a mortgage broker, our household conversations always involved real estate. Even though it’s what I devote my time to now, real estate was not always the plan. I wanted to carve my own path. After graduating from Washington University in St. Louis with a double major in finance and marketing, I moved to New York City to work for J.P. Morgan Private Bank, where I managed assets for high net-worth individuals.

Fast-forward 4+ wonderful years of working at a big bank and startup, I was still searching for my passion and hungry for something different. I did learn that I wanted to be in a relationship business but wanted more control over my time. That realization led me home to Miami where I joined the family business before linking up with Douglas Elliman in Miami. In four years of being at Douglas Elliman, I have earned the distinction of being top 11 percent nationwide at perhaps the most premier company in the industry and I am lucky to say that I have found a career that I love and I am passionate about. Building a client roster from scratch is intimidating.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No……!!! Real estate is never a smooth road. I could write for days on all the things that can appear out of nowhere and torpedo a deal. Being successful in real estate and differentiating yourself from the seemingly endless amount of competitors is not easy. Not having a salary or steady paycheck to count on is scary.

These things require thousands of hours of work, personal development, and perseverance. I’ll never forget spending more than a year showing over 60 luxury homes all over South Florida to a single prospective client, only to have them sadly break the news that they weren’t moving to Miami. I was devastated, but that one taught me not to count my chickens before they hatch.

Alright – so let’s talk business. What else should we know about your work?
I work for Douglas Elliman, the second-largest brokerage in the nation. I specialize in Miami and the Beaches helping clients sell, buy, or rent residential real estate. From new developments to single-family and condominium re-sales, I do it all. Fluent in Spanish and English, I work with both local and international clients.

My motto since day one has been saying yes to every opportunity no matter how small because business leads to more business. No deal is too small. From a $1,500 rental to a $10 million sale, I do it all and will treat every deal like it’s my most important. Just like there are some amazing agents, others don’t do what’s best for their clients and only think about what’s best for their pockets. What has distinguished me is not only the work ethic and analytical presentations, but it’s my HONESTY. Whether it’s telling people about the upcoming building next door that’s about to steal their view or that the otherwise perfect home on their wish list floods during high tide, my clients trust me and know I will always have their best interest in mind. In just a short few years, my business has been built upon referrals and I complete over 100 transactions a year – just me – by the way, I’m looking for a full-time assistant, if you know of anyone.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
It would be an understatement to say I am lucky to have a father who has been in the business for 40+ years to serve as my number one advocate. He’s seen it all and taught me to anticipate and spot problems before they arise so that I am in a better position to negotiate and resolve them. To anyone embarking on a new career or venture, I urge you to find a mentor to bounce ideas off of and shorten the learning curve.
