Today we’d like to introduce you to Isabella Acker.
Isabella, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was a Hospitality Management & Event Planner major at FIU and have always been a live music junkie. After Co-Founding my first company, Black Key Group was created from the result of the dispersed music scene, we represented local and emerging talents, while promoting the local music scene. A few years later I worked for Live Nation as the Marketing Director and got a full understanding of the music business from an agent and talent buyer perspective, as well as Miami’s marketing challenges – like SFL being a last minute ticket buying market, strategic community partnerships, unique marketing campaigns, to name a few. As exciting as all that was, I continued to have the entrepreneurial itch and three years ago Prism was birthed. I knew we could make a bigger impact morphing into a creative agency, and helping elevate the entire music scene, rather than just a few select bands. We had a dire need and desire to create experiences for community beyond music. We wanted to focus on Prism’s larger mission which is re-branding Miami beyond the beaches and elevating culture by thoughtful development and community programming.
Has it been a smooth road?
Is any entrepreneurial path a smooth road? Ha ha…in all seriousness there have been ebbs and flows, like any business but we grow from the bumps along the way. My biggest strength is how much I trust people and my biggest weakness is how much I trust people. I had to learn the hard way that formalities with contracts and agreements are necessary no matter how close you are with people, I’ve struggled with creating the infrastructure and operations it takes to build out systems and procedures to optimize the business.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Prism Creative Group – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Prism believes in re-branding Miami beyond the beaches by building a deeper connection through culture to increase the quality of life in Miami, mobilizing the community, and elevating the collective consciousness by producing conceptual community events and shining the spotlight on local tales as on-the-ground storytellers
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Best- It’s incredibly entrepreneurial, you can recharge with the ocean, and I love that I live 5 minutes away from Zaika.
Least- It can be pretentious, public spaces aren’t activated as often as they should be, and I wish there was at least 5 more live music venues.
