Today we’d like to introduce you to Ilamise Leblanc.

Ilamise, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Hi, my name is Ilamise Leblanc mostly known as Folami Olujimi. I started Melanin Run the world about four or five years ago because at that time I was going through some very hard time from depression, toxic relationships, to getting bullied by my own family for my dark-skinned I even tried to take my life twice. After the second attempt, I decided it was time that I stop feeling sorry for myself and it was time that I turn my pain into greatness. So I decided to start melanin Run The World, even in a million years I would’ve never imagined people could love the brand the way they do because I can still remember the fears in my eyes when I walked into Lauderhill mall to get my very first shirt printed at the time I just wanted the world to see me for who I am instead of my skin color.

I am truly glad the world can see it now and through Melanin Run The World I’ve had the honor to meet a lot of beautiful young men and women who can relate to my story and I am looking forward to the day I can travel the world and help put a stop to bullying, I have a lot of goals for Melanin Run The World but my biggest one is to be able to open my own community center if God willing even a franchise to help people who’s been or going through the same no matter who you are straight, gay or your race black, white, Spanish, Chinese, Jewish, or Muslim your healing matter to Melanin Run The world not your sexuality or race. But for now we can only express Melanin Run The World through our beautiful comfy custom merch and we’re glad the world loves it.

Has it been a smooth road?
It hasn’t been easy but giving up is not an option. I met (and still going through ) a lot of challenges along the way from quitting my full-time job for the second times thinking I was ready to become a full-time entrepreneur but I was very wrong so I had to drop out of nursing school from there I became homeless sleeping in my car. I am still facing challenges because everyday I have the opportunity to learn something new about Melanin Run The World. Despite all my challenges I wouldn’t trade being the owner of this brand for nothing in this world and I’m just glad I get the honor to grow with Melanin Run The World.

Tell us about your business.
When it comes to me I do it all your name, I model when I want to, creative director, jewelry maker but I am mostly known as the phenomenal woman behind Melanin Run The world where I provide beautiful clothes. what I am most proud of is how far I’ve comes and the many challenges that I faced but never give up. We have a lot of things that set us apart from others but I think the most important ones is how we are branding we’re not just any clothing brand we make sure we have a meaning behind us we branding with a purpose and most importantly our customer service we do our very best to make every feels welcome at Melanin Run The World.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
To tell you you the truth there’s not a thing not to like I love everything especially the beaches.
