Meet Gabriel Samra of Gabriel Samra Hair Salon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabriel Samra.

Gabriel, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Born and raised in Venezuela to Lebanese parents, I was an architect by profession, TV producer by mistake, and a celebrity hairstylist, makeup artist and salon owner by destiny, which is now my passion.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
When destiny hits your life, life becomes the best journey. Before that, life was not easy, like for many people. We all have struggles as we are coming into our own and figuring out what we want in life, especially as I went from one industry and would merge into another industry. When I decided to be in the beauty industry, life made more sense to me and everything I was doing; I was doing it with so much passion and love, that I never realized how hard I was working.

Some of the biggest struggles were similar to what many people face as they decide to start their own business, which is, I knew I loved what I did, which was hair, makeup and make people feel beautiful and the best about themselves, but would that be enough to survive. However, I let the love of what I wanted to do to be the focus, and naturally and fortunately, I’ve been able to not only make a living off of it, but build a brand and support an incredible staff that I call family at the salon.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Gabriel Samra Hair Salon is the place where Miami’s chic community comes to experience their hair become a work of art. The Salon also allows everyone to escape the rush of the city life and feel refreshed, relaxed and rejuvenated. For me, the salon is more than just a salon. It’s my beauty temple that I share with my expertly trained staff, who I consider family. From the attentive consultation to ensure each person leaves with their desired look, to a lively atmosphere catering to all senses, customers are all treated as members of my own family.

What Gabriel Samra Hair Salon and I’m most known for is my innovative and forward thinking approach to hair coloring, especially with the Balayage technique. For me, making sure women have the perfect hair color for their needs and wants is what I love to do, while doing so in a way that creates a beautiful look, while maintaining the health of the hair. At Gabriel Samra Hair Salon, we truly know the complexities of what it means to color hair, from the science behind the formulas, to the application to provide a beautiful finish with long-lasting results. Our clientele also loves coming to us for their full beauty needs, from hair cutting, styling, makeup application, facials, manicure, pedicures and so much more.

As a company I am proud that in less than five years I created a brand, which speaks by itself. Every woman should be an icon in their own world and I have brought to life my vision of ultimate hair care and make up to empower beauty and confidence in the 21st century woman.

My secret is that I take each one of my customers on a trip with me full of creativity, laughs and silky hair looks during each appointment. My passion for beauty has taken me to many places where I had been able to service and beautify women for all over the world, different cultures and ethnicities, which gives me the capacity to understand the importance of customers’ needs and wants, while always being attentive to details in order to deliver the best salon experience.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I love about Miami is that it’s a multicultural city that is growing and becoming more and more a cosmopolitan place. It feels so magical as we breath beauty and fashion, and are surrounded by amazing talent. I am so excited to see what else Miami can offer in the following years!!! It’s going to be epic. And La coladaaaaaaaa!!!!

What I least like about Miami is that there is too much traffic!!! LOL…Sometimes my customers struggle to get to my salon as a result of the traffic. Also, to beat the traffic I have to wake up extra early be at the salon on time and ready for my morning clients.
