Today we’d like to introduce you to Frederick Santory.
Frederick, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My journey started eight years ago with my then 14-year old son, Giovanni Santory who lived with his mother in Tampa. I went to visit Gio and took him to lunch. I asked him what was going on in his life. He replied, streaming! I asked what that meant, He explained in great detail what streaming was all about. Streaming was a cheaper more efficient way to show live videos on any platform. I thought about how the TV networks and radio stations could use this platform and grow their businesses. I went to the NFL and MLB organizations only to be told that no one would watch games on their phones. Yet, now watching sports on individual phones is the number one growing market in America today. I noticed that AM radio was quickly dying. I went to the Beasley Broadcast Radio station and met with Bob Murancy, general manager of the Boca Raton stations. We spoke of our vision for growth to be on the cutting edge of streaming in conjunction with real radio. Bob quickly gave me two huge accounts. From that meeting and relationship, I ended up streaming the Republican and Democratic Conventions in Tampa and N. Carolina. AMP2 TV Productions was launched. I’ve been at the Boca Raton Beasley stations for 7 years with over 38 different shows on every subject matter from health care to credit counseling.
Next, I took my platform to the Iheart Media Stations and put 6 shows together for them, The Brooklyn Cafe Show was born within the iHeart studios 4 years ago. The Cafe has grown over the last 2 years for viewing on radio 5 days per week on FM/AM. A variety of social media platforms and on TV in New York, Boston and Atlanta. The Brooklyn Cafe Show has also been picked up to air in France on Tendance TV and 15 other European countries. The Brooklyn Cafe Show sits within an 11,000 sq. ft. art gallery in Delray Beach, FL which lends itself to the visual component of streaming and TV.
Our new advertising platform now includes a TV show to follow up the online streaming and to give companies a bigger reach and demographic spread.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey has NOT been a smooth road at all. We were the first company with this vision and I lost over 110,000 dollars within the first two years. Loss of equipment, radio time and lost manpower, just to name a few. I quit 6 times, smashing my computer the first time out of frustration. Each time was another hurdle. However, I came back and fought for my dream. I made the changes and to this day, I continue to push!
Amp2.TV – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We make growing business and people easy and comfortable. Amp2tv gives you the chance to put your ideas to to work and if we don’t have the platform in place we create it. I’m proud of my son because at 21 and newly married and a graduate of Full Sail University with full honors, hes allowed me to extend his vision and touch many souls.
We do streaming differently from all other companies and give them a copy of their work. We help them grow and now are changing platforms to help them get more into the community and raise money to keep their product growing.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
We put 21,000 people at the BB&T Center for ADL and raised over 50,000 for No Place for Hate Campaign for Kids Last year.
