Meet Erica Leonard of Core954 in Fort Lauderdale – Pompano Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erica Leonard.

Erica, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I grew up in South Florida as a Model, so fitness was always part of my life. After a car accident back in the late 90’s I got into Classical Pilates to rehab myself back into health. From there, I found a love for fitness and became an instructor. Once I finished my classical Pilates schooling, I immediately got hired up to coach the Olympic teams and professional athletes throughout all of North America. About 4 years ago, my mother came to me with an article on Lagree Fitness, which is the method we teach at Core954. The workout is done on these futuristic machines called the Megaformer m3s.

Since I have been practicing the Lagree Method, my life has changed, and my studio has changed the life of all of our members. I help my clients rehab themselves back to life out of major surgery, such as back, neck, knee, and hips..and I also challenge the fittest & elite athletes within the same small group setting. I love the versatility of this Lagree Method. It’s truly incredible, the stories we hear from all of my clientele on how it has changed their lives. We are currently expanding to more locations in the south Florida area.

Has it been a smooth road?
Although I went to school for communications initially, I feel that the universe brought me into the life of health and fitness to change lives. Every single person who comes along my way helps to motivate me just as much as I motivate them. NO road is ever smooth. I truly believe that we only grow in life if we are given challenges. Each step of the way since my teenage years has been a winding road of choice, and change. The outcome has led me to be a business owner, with a passion for helping people and it is the most rewarding life I could have ever asked for, aside from being a mother of two beautiful girls.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Core954 – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Core954 has only been open just for 3 years, however, I have been building my fitness clientele for 20 years. I love the fact that we are the only current licensee for the Lagree Method in Fort Lauderdale area. This heart-pounding, body shaking, 45 min workout is famous amongst Hollywoods finest. I’m very fortunate to be the pioneer in this city. My students always believed in me and what I offer them, in all my years of training. So bringing this into our town was so fresh and new, that it was a risk I took, however, I believed in it so much, I couldn’t resist. I love that the classes are very, safe, intimate, customized, and yet challenging enough for those of all fitness levels.

Myself, my trainers and clients are a beautiful family. We strive to create an environment that makes people want to come back for more, not only for the workout but for the sense of self and happiness. Core954 is a way of life, we are a community within our community. We are passionate about what we do. As a business owner, I couldn’t be more happy with who has come thru our doors, staff, and students combined, we ALL make it what it is… and our reputation is outstanding. That in itself sets us apart from any other fitness studio around.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Being a Fort Lauderdale Native, I can only say I have nothing but LOVE for this place. I don’t have much negative to say, other than the fact that it gets pretty crowded, but I can’t blame everyone for wanting to be here just as much as I do!
