So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have worked in the corporate world my entire career and when they made changes at ION Television and let me go after 4 years (which I thought I would never leave) I was torn between going back to the corporate world that provided good experience but horrible and scary career expectancy most of my corporate jobs had a 2 year shelf life. So I decided to take all that experience and open up Boom Media that provides Multimedia, Web Design, Graphic Design, Social Media Advertising & Reputation Management to local small businesses that cant afford to compete with larger heavily funded companies to provide the same services and quality of larger brands. Coming up on my 2-year milestone I think I made the right choice.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road to success is still in the making and it has not been easy as I am the Salesmen, Designer, accountant, and support but I have learned a lot that will help in the success of my company when I decide to bring in part-time help to allow me to do what I do best which is educate local businesses on how important social media and responsive web design is in our ever-changing digital world. Plus provide them with a cost-effective solution for the Digital needs.
