Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Harris.
Emily, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My love for photography began in a high school dark room. I took a two-year advance training class where I learned to shoot film and develop it. I photographed for the newspaper in high school and went on to pursue a degree in photojournalism at the University of Florida. While at UF, I worked for the Gainesville Sun, The Alligator (college paper) and few other publications. Just after leaving collage, I began to work at the Miami Herald as a photographer. It was an incredible experience, as the industry was changing so quickly.
While working for the paper, I began photographing weddings on the side. I enjoyed the challenge of documenting a wedding from my natural photojournalistic perspective. Once I decided to go out on my own and start a wedding photography company, my husband (also a shutterbug) became my second shooter and photographing weddings became my full-time job. We have developed our own look and style and strive to provide our clients with an amazing experience and unforgettable memories. The relationships that I get to make with different people every weekend can be truly inspiring. There is no better compliment than when a client continues to remember me for other important family moments and milestones. It is my privilege, to photograph the moments in people’s lives that matter most.
Has it been a smooth road?
I think anyone that decides to start their own business will face common anxieties and pressures. I was lucky to have a great support system of family and friends when I had self-doubt.

As a husband & wife photography team, we understand that LOVE is raw, pure, and emotional. It is our primary goal to document our client’s wedding in a natural and authentic way without being intrusive. Our photographs are natural and unrehearsed. Most clients seek us out for our candid and documentary style. I am most proud of how we are able handle high-stress situations with ease and a sense of humor. I love the culture and when there is a tropical breeze, dislike the traffic and the summer’s humidity..
