Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Dos Santos.
Emily, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
When I first began modeling, it actually happened by accident. I never planned to model until a friend of mine referred me to an agency & I thought to myself it probably won’t work out but why not give I’ll give it a shot. That very same night, I received a call from an agent to be on my first music video with Lil Wayne for “sucka free”. At first, I thought it was gonna be a complete scam & even had a girl friend join me just in case anything happened. After my first day working, I began to get connected with other agencies through networking and have featured in videos with Shakira, Torey Lanez, Lil Wayne, Birdman, Arcangel, Farruko, Alex rose and many more artists. Work has really taken off ever since. Had I not taken that leap of faith & believed in myself, I wouldn’t be here right now.
Has it been a smooth road?
The entertainment industry is probably one of the toughest crowds I’ve ever been in. If you aren’t a strong-minded person, you can easily get carried away and taken into the wrong path. I’ve had wonderful experiences but I’ve also experienced many people trying to influence my decisions with pretty words and flashy material. You really gotta know your worth and when to put your foot down.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
Not only do I model but I’m also a college student studying for my PhD in psychology. I aspire to get my degree to help out the community and make a difference in not only this world but my family as well. I have a love for modeling but I also have a strong desire to change our community and spread love across the world.
