Meet Elizabeth Gonzalez of Sincerely, Miami

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Gonzalez.

Elizabeth, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
At 19, I moved to South Beach from the rural area of Maryland with a Massage License and all my belongings in my little yellow car. After 8 years in the Spa Industry and months before getting married, my now husband and I looked at each other and asked, “Are you happy in your work”, we both said no, and left our jobs. He went into real estate and I went to Media School.

While there and after lots of Yelp reviews and food pics, I started an Instagram, because that’s what bloggers do, as a platform to share my experience of the Magic City and it opened up numerous doors

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Fortunately my road has been very blessed. My biggest struggle has been me getting in my own way whether that be my not-so-great time management or not feeling good enough for certain project because I don’t have a degree. I’ve learned to laugh and say I went to the University of YouTube with a Masters in Google Search.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Sincerely Miami is my platform where I share my experience as a Maryland girl living in the 305, mostly in the culinary world. I’ll collaborate with local brands and businesses to share them with my community. I think what sets me apart is my view of our city coming from a small town to a place so rich of culture and full of diversity. As I like to say, ‘livin’ la vida local’

What were you like growing up?
Oh my goodness… a nightmare. Okay, maybe I wasn’t that bad but I definitely had a few super rebellious teenage years. When I was young I was always adventurous and outgoing with bruised needs and tears in my dresses and wanted to be a comedian when I grew up.
