Today we’d like to introduce you to Edward Sklar.
Edward, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started working in Miami at Jackson Memorial Hospital and realized that as an employee it would be difficult to achieve my financial goals. I became a partner in a Plant Nursery and Landscaping Business.
The spouse of the majority partner was from Latin America, when her father was assassinated we took steps to ensure that she would not be a victim of a kidnapping. I sought out the best Counter Surveillance resource in Miami, and we performed the Sweep of the premises to ensure no transmitters or wiretaps. When we sold the Nursery Business I became a partner in the Security firm on Brickell Ave, and ultimately relocated to New York to become President of this multinational company. I travelled the world and appeared in National Media on an ongoing basis. Upon selling out of this company I became involved with Business Development for Software companies working with the largest Financial Services organizations and Banks in New York.
I was then recruited to become a Partner in a Real Estate Development company which I worked at until the Financial Crisis closed the project down. I became a Business Broker/REALTOR and have developed a unique niche in this marketplace. I only work with Businesses that have Revenues in excess of $500,000. I create a Business Plan for the owners of the companies I am selling which enables them to receive a higher value for their business.
Has it been a smooth road?
The Financial Crisis was the biggest obstacle I have faced in my lifetime.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with South Florida for Me – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am a Concierge Business Broker, and only take on a limited number of client engagements. There is No Fee paid by the Seller of the Business until the Business is sold. We also work with many types of Buyers including Private Equity firms, Corporations, and individuals seeking an opportunity. I have many financing sources available including a source that enables individuals to use their retirement account to purchase a business. Additionally, I have many businesses available that enable people to obtain a Visa.
I am a member of the Business Brokers of Florida which enables me to provide information on virtually all of the businesses available in Florida. As a REALTOR, I am networked with Real Estate Agents across the country.
Additionally, my Social Media presence is extensive, and I receive daily inquiries for businesses from my blogs and postings on Social Media.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love the diversity of Miami and I hate the traffic driving down from the Boca area.
