Meet Eduardo Hernandez Mendoza of Pickypics Studios

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eduardo Hernandez Mendoza.

Eduardo, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. I come from a loving home. We was only 4. When my father died, I was 15 years old, I must go to work and I did it without stopping studying. Study marketing, and performing arts. Then, when I finished, I take a studies pause. Work in several different trades. Sales, TV Show, radio…. and one day I decided study Social Communication. That time was my first encounter with a photography.

I took many pictures of many things, but by then, I was just a hobby. I graduated at the most important university on my country few years later, I Founded my own company of marketing and image consultants. I works for many hotels in sales & marketing. Hilton Suites, Melia ad some minors brands at Venezuela, Colombia & Saint Marteen.

One day I received a budget to make some aerial & products photographs. Was so expensive. Then I told the board that I was in charge of taking the photographs. That was my reencounter with the editorial and advertising photography.

The rest has been history. Now my service was comprehensive. I offered marketing advice and accompanied with coherent images I received several job offers and several countries. One day and motivated by the socio-economic situation of my country, I decided to accept an offer in Miami.

Now, from Miami, we advise several hotels, cruiser lines, resorts, restaurants and artists on branding and image themes. Now each job is a challenge that begins with the conceptualization and achieve it into an image. Every day, we make pictures. Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Has been a pleasant way. The most difficult thing has been to migrate out for necessity and not for conviction. Is to start over where almost nobody knows you. Is to be far from your family, your home.

Pickypics Studios – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Our biggest difference is the personalized service. Once we understand what our client wants, we tell stories with our campaigns and our images our formula works. People get the message. For example, in social media, when I post a food photography, his reaction to our proposal is measurable almost immediately.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is subjective. When you feel satisfied when the work is well done and that is corroborated by the results, you can already say that you have been successful

We are focused on products that provide pleasures, such as travel, restaurants, hotels, cruises, wines companies, destinations However, we do not rule out other markets. In fact we have found very good results in portraits that speak about them. Artists, celebrities, singers, managers.
