Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Russell Sassani, M.D.
After graduating with Highest Honors from Rutgers University, he obtained his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He did residency training in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He then went on to complete post-residency fellowships.
These included a Hand Surgery Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania, a Craniomaxillofacial Surgery Fellowship at the University of Miami, and a Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship with the renowned Drs. Baker, Gordon and Stuzin in Miami. During the course of his extensive training,
Dr. Sassani has engaged in several areas of research, authored and presented a number of scientific papers at both the regional and national levels. He is also active locally in the education of medical students and residents.
Dr. Sassani’s particular areas of interest and expertise are cosmetic surgery of the face, plastic surgery of the breast (enlargement, reduction and reconstruction) body contour surgery (liposuction and tummy tucks) and laser skin resurfacing. His reconstructive interests and expertise include reconstruction after facial trauma, reconstruction after cancer surgery, burn reconstruction, and hand surgery. In the last few years, Dr. Sassani has developed a notable reputation in the community for his expertise in Female to Male (FTM) Chest Reconstruction Surgery also known as “Top Surgery”.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
As most people can imagine, starting your own practice or any business is difficult at first and as with anything there is always bumps along the road. Despite having obstacles such as an economic recession in which less people where opting for elective cosmetic surgeries, Take Shape Plastic Surgery, P.A. has proudly and thankfully remained in business for over a decade.

Take Shape Plastic Surgery, P.A. offers a full gamut of plastic and reconstructive surgeries, cosmetic injectables and med spa services by two Board Certified Plastic Surgeons, Dr. Russell Sassani, M.D. and Dr. Elie Harouche, M.D., FACS and Medical Aesthetician Anya Jordan.
Dr. Sassani’s is an expert cosmetic and reconstructive surgeon in facial surgery, plastic surgery of the breast, body contouring, cosmetic injectables and laser skin resurfacing.
His reconstructive interests and expertise include reconstruction after facial trauma, cancer surgery, burn reconstruction, and hand surgery.
He is also specialized in Female to Male (FTM) Top Surgery.
Dr. Elie Harouche is a double-board Plastic Surgeon and Otolaryngologist. He has been in practice for over 30 years. Dr. Harouche is an expert cosmetic and reconstructive surgeon with special interests in facial plastic surgeries such as face lifts and eye lifts. He is highly experienced in rhinoplasty for patients of all ethnic backgrounds. Lastly, Dr. Harrouche is skilled at many body procedures such as labiaplasty, fat transfer, liposuction, breast augmentation or reconstruction, and tummy tuck to name a few.
Dr. Sassani and Dr. Harouche perform the surgeries on site at Take Shape’s own fully equipped and fully accredited ambulatory surgical center. However, both physicians have hospital privileges to a number of hospitals such as Plantation General Hospital, Broward General Hospital and a number of prestigious hospitals in New York.
Anya is an experienced and credentialed Medical Aesthetician licensed by the Department of Business and Professional Regulation Board of Cosmetology. In addition, she is licensed by the Florida Department of Health as a Certified Medical Electrologist, as well as the Society for Clinical and Medical Hair Removal as a Laser Specialist. She provides a multitude of services such as laser hair removal, skin rejuvenation treatments; fractional laser resurfacing, IPL laser therapy, medical facials and much more.
