Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Maribel Pedrozo.
Dr. Pedrozo, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
From a very young age, I felt a great passion for health and beauty, in school I was very affectionate, and also have many friends. I loved talking, dancing, leading as a matter of fact I still am.
I was born in Barranquilla, Colombia, my interest in everything about health and beauty began at the early age of 17 when I started my college years at the Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia. Then I continued my post-graduate school in Medicine at Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara, Mexico, where I obtained my General Surgeon Doctorate with training in emergency and family medicine.
After graduating, I opened my private practice in Barranquilla, Colombia which I combined doing family medicine clinics, plastic surgeries and emergency rooms.
In 1993, I arrived in the beautiful Miami and here I met my husband, Daniel. Me and Daniel met on February 21 and got married on April 21 (only two months after we met), and we are still married.
He is a wonderful husband with a big heart, we do not have children, but we have our beloved pet … a beautiful cocker spaniel, Toví, who now I can say is more popular than me… hahaha.
Committed in searching for treatments, products and technology for skin care, in 2007, I created my own line of skin care products, Dr. Maribel Pedrozo® Skincare, made in the United States.
In my skin care line my clients can find the best combination of science and nature. It’s made for all types of skin with the best ingredients following my medicine knowledge and with a great quality control. The products are certified by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration), and GMP (Good Manufacturer Products), ISO 2000.
Since the beginning, it has been successfully accepted by clients, and has been recognized in very prestigious magazines and television shows. Dr. Maribel Pedrozo® Skincare products are elaborated with excellent essential ingredients according to the needs of each type of skin.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has been a smooth road, with a combination of challenges, big or small obstacles but every time they appear I turn them around. My mother always taught us “In life your enemies and your obstacles are your own thoughts” I know that the road gets harder and more difficult when you don’t love what you do, and that is not my case.
My career of learning never ends, I like to study and learn so I am always on the search for new knowledges and goals. When I graduated from high school I thought it was the maximum I was going to accomplish, but then came my college and university study, making my parents very proud of me. They paid for my tuition so without them I wouldn’t be able to finish my degrees.
As I continued studying, I can say that now I feel very proud of myself but I also feel gratitude to God that I can still do what I like the most.

Nowadays her time is divided between her consultation in Biobell Oriental MedSpa, her studies of RN FNP in Boca Raton FL, and Athenea clinic of Dermatology, in addition to serving as national and international educator of anti-aging, holistic medicine, nutrition and business development programs of Spas in Congresses and seminars held nationally and internationally.
Also, Maribel works for 14 years with her brother, a recognized clinical and investigative dermatologist Dr. Alejandro Pedrozo III who owns the Athenea Clinic in Miami. Maribel is her brother’s medical and surgical assistant and medical aesthetician.
She currently shares her tips of beauty in her column at Revista Miércoles from the Heraldo newspaper from Colombia, in her blog BlogPiel101.com and in her official YouTube channel: Dr. Maribel Pedrozo.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love Miami, the joy of the people is multicultural, the variety of restaurants, its beaches, the city of Brickell and Coral Gables are my favorite. Which I like less?? Traffic there’s heavy traffic in recent years. But I still love it and especially the weather.
