Today we’d like to introduce you to Douglas Hirsch.
Douglas, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started in Music at age of 14. Bands and friends around Miami Shores. Took lessons. Saw lots of concerts. Great guitarists from Segovia to Keith Richards. Went to Music school in 1979. Degree in Music Compostion. Started teaching and playing. Got involved in selling technology, in the late 80s… had a family… Stated REDD Inc in 1999 …. owned retail music stores and Created Maccontrol…. an apple friendly wifi remote… sold the company. Created Jamlab…. music collaboration website. Continued Writing and playing music. Continued tech side with AHT Global, Designing tech for clients including 1000 Museum in Miami, the Zaha Hadid building. Playing music as the Douglas Hirsch Group in venues. Recording a record now. Also playing and recording as Tiferet Miami. A spiritual music concept with Marc Philippe. Just toured and recorded. In Isreal in a cave. Also wrote songs for a documentaries in art and Health.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Struggles abound, from family issues to my battle with alcoholism, I am sober 13 years. Also, the 2008 economic collapse wiped out our financing As well as personal wealth. Daily challenges of a Miami scene that III a not easy on a live performing musician.

The music side of my life allows me to play in many styles of music from Country to blues to jazz to even klezmer. Technology We are the Cutting edge of modern entertainment tech.
What were you like growing up?
Book reader ….introverted, socially by myself. Loved music and art and movies. Travelled.
