Dior Beye, CEO of Brown Girl Organics is an African woman from Dakar, Senegal. She moved to the United States at the age of 17. She wanted to flaunt her natural hair and celebrate her black roots but struggled with finding healthy hair products for kinky curly hair types. Her vision was to create products with quality ingredients that would inspire black women to wear their hair natural. Her vision became a reality when she launched Brown Girl Organics.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Brown Girl Organics is an online business. It hasn’t always been a smooth road. In the beginning, we struggled in making our brand more noticeable. It took some time for us to build an audience. After consistent marketing, we were able to generate sales and help customers accomplish their healthy hair goals.
