Meet Diego Cappella of Cappella Photography

Today we’d like to introduce you to Diego Cappella.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I first began to develop my creativity by studying Graphic Design, and continued with Art Direction and Photography, among other related studies. I began working on a magazine as a graphic designer which prepared me to launch my own Miami-centered publication, D’VOX Magazine. After a few years, I wished to be more creatively challenged and started working in advertising as an Art Director, receiving numerous national and international awards. I both conceived and produced all the photography for my campaigns.

My passion for photography continued grow and finally in 2010, I created Cappella Photography. It took me one wedding and two social events to realize that the event slant was not for me. My creativity was best applied to industrial, commercial and architectural work. In addition, the diversity of the work helped me to remain focused and engaged. In 2014, I felt the need to express my true passion and started doing personal projects. That pursuit soon took me to exhibit at Spectrum Miami, Art Expo NY, Art Dubai and Art LA. Photography has changed my life; it is cathartic for me when I am able to see the world through the lens of the camera. Wanting to share that experience with young minds has recently led to teaching photography to middle school kids, with the hope that some may enjoy the same benefits of my way of life.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Every bump on the road offers me a lesson; every wrong turn has taught me to be patient… Crazy bosses, broken relationships and long hours at the agency are a few. I often think of an old saying in photography: life is a like a camera. Focus on what’s important: capture the good times, learn from the negatives and if thing don’t work out, take another shot.

Please tell us about Cappella Photography.
My extensive experience in the advertising industry made a huge difference in my ability to capture images that sell. We now offer clients branding and photography concepts and execution plans that are a cut above competitors. Ultimately, we endeavor to provide the highest standard of excellence in the photography industry. The studio specializes in industrial, architecture and commercial photography. However, we openly pursue and accept jobs outside of those genres. Cappella Photography offers large and small-scale shoots that fit any budget. Whether shooting images for startups, family-owned businesses or multi-million dollar corporations, the passion is the same. We love taking pictures! We know and understand that for many business owners, shooting professional images is a big deal and we want to help businesses and individuals make great first impressions.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I probably would have taken more pictures.
