Meet Diana Rodriguez of Power House Beauty in Coral Gables

Today we’d like to introduce you to Diana Rodriguez.

Diana, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Growing up, I never knew exactly who I wanted to become. I did know that I wanted to be content with the job I got up to do every day. My family came to the United States from Cuba when I was five years old. I saw how much my parents struggled with paying bills and trying to reach that American dream. Everything I am today is thanks to the sacrifice my grandparents and parents made to bring us to this amazing country. I started my hair and makeup company after graduating from high school at 16 years old.

Then I went to cosmetology school for two years to obtain my certificates and license. I didn’t learn everything I wanted to so I did everything I could to take extra classes, watch videos on hair and makeup nonstop and really practice my craft. My kit grew with the years as I found those essential items that would work perfectly together but my very first items where bought with a weeks’ worth of my brothers pay check! He has always believed and has been by my side every step of the way. My first studio was created from the ground up with the help of my amazing mother, father & brother which was located in Hialeah. The support of my family was definitely the biggest help in getting the company where we wanted it!

I now have a beautiful studio in Coral Gables with more than five hair and makeup artist on our team. We specialize in bridal. This year we won two awards (The Knot – Best of Weddings 2017 & Wedding Wire – Couples Choice)

Our work as also been published on Dolce Magazine.

We are currently working on my second company which is called Hera’s LockBox.

This company goes hand and hand with PowerHouseBeauty because we will sell accessories for all our brides needs

As a 21-year-old having my own business and making other women feel beautiful and unpowered I can truly say I am living my dream!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It’s been a beautiful road, the last 5 years have been filled with amazing opportunities and growth for the company. I have sacrificed every weekend for the last five years and have work endlessly to become the best version of myself but it has all been more than worth it!

Power House Beauty is Bridal Hair & Makeup company. We specialize in Bridal Hair & makeup. I am the Owner and head Hair/ Makeup Artist. We have a team of highly trained and skilled artist who work under me. Our company not only provides beauty services but we pride ourselves in the relationship and trust we create with our clients. We are not scared to go the extra mile and help our brides get into their dress or help them put on their shoes. We are there the entire time to make sure everything runs smoothly.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success in the happiness of others, if my artist & I are happy with the work and environment they are in. My amazing brides and their families, if they are happy with our work and our service Then we are successful.
