Today we’d like to introduce you to Darsys Milian.
Darsys, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I believe my career started by faith, I am a strong believer in God and how He works in mysterious ways. I started in the Makeup and Hair Industry with 18 years old in my last year of high school. At the age of 18, I started doing it as a hobby and as a side job meanwhile, I was finishing my senior year of High-school. A year after that, I started studying for my associate’s at Miami – Dade College. Shortly after, people started referring me, as well as I began getting phone calls and emails from new potential clients requesting my services. It got to the point that I had to either say no to clients or leave Miami-Dade to make what was then a hobby a full-Time job as a Makeup and Hair Artist.
I remember like if it was yesterday the Summer of 2012 when I told my mom I was leaving Miami-Dade College to follow my Makeup Artistry career. I soon enrolled in Beauty Schools of America and obtained two State Licsence’s.
At that moment I was a little scared but, I had so much passion for this field that I knew deep down that I was making the right decision.
In 2014, I was already working with many well-known photographers and celebrities in the Miami area, as well as a part-time at Sephora as a Makeup Artist. I worked with so many amazing brands like Laura Mercier among others! I obtained a lot of knowledge of brands and products as well as Skin Care.
A year went by and I decided it was time to add someone in to help me; that’s when I decided to add our second full-time Artist Margarita German.
As we started to grow further I was already getting bookings years in advance! In less than a year, I started looking for more Artist’s to add into my team. I decided to train all new artists by both Margarita and I.
Shortly After, In July 12,2016, I became a mother for the very first time and I must confess, my daughter has made my career so much better. She gave me so much light and gave me the drive of opening my very own beauty salon.
It was named under the first makeup and hair beauty bar in Miami-FL which is located at 7287 West Flager Miami, FL 33144.
I always felt the need of a salon that had everything in just one location! When I designed my beauty bar, I wanted to cover everyone’s need’s in just one place.
My beauty bar is the one stop shop for all beauty needs, were highly concentrated on makeup and hairstyling but we also offer hair coloring, nail services, wax and bridal headpieces.
I Strongly believe we have our own style of glam and I try for our clients to look and feel as beautiful as possible.
I believe Makeup is a powerful tool that makes us women so much more powerful and beautiful.
Has it been a smooth road?
I believe there’s no such thing as a smooth road. Everything in life has it’s up’s and downs. I’ve had moments I’ve wanted to give up but I always remind myself of why I started and where I envision myself and my Beauty Bar in a couple of years. I am a very positive person and in the back of my head, I always think of how I want my daughter to be proud of her mother! I want her to know that anything in this life is possible if you do it with love because when you love what you do, success just happens.

Darsys Makeup and Hair is a company That Specializes in Makeup and Hair Styling for all Special Occasions. We’re very well known by our brides, quinceañeras and maternity. We have specialized on the perfect glam for that special day. We have brides all over the world; We’ve had from Texas, Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Houston, India, Canada, Colombia and other USA countries.
We have many experiences with Quinceañera’s, not only for the day of the party but also during their Photoshoot Session. We’ve traveled even to Paris, France for Hair and Makeup for Quinces; we create a plan and schedule with our Quinceanera’s for the day of their pictures to make sure all their outfits go with the selected Makeup and Hair Styles.
At Darsys Makeup & Hair, we’re very attentive to detail and customer service is key to us. We try to provide our Clients with the best quality of work, as well as with the best pricing and the best customer service possible. I always said, no matter how big Darsys Makeup & Hair got, our prices will always be affordable to our clients!
I believe what set us apart from other companies is the heart and soul I give to all my clients, I truly give my client the knowledge and time to not only provide a service but to also listen to them. Us women sometimes just do these services to not only look better but also feel better. So, I like to make sure all my clients leave looking and feeling beautiful! I make them feel like family and I truly believe that’s been key to my success.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I love the most about Miami is the beautiful tropical weather we have; as well as all the mixed cultures we have living here. It reminds me a lot of my country Cuba, living in Miami is the close’s I have to Cuba… I’ve gotten to also know so many different cultures and accents which I love.
However, since Miami is so populated, I have to say the least thing I like is definitely the traffic!!! Driving in Miami is horrible, it is seriously mission impossible.
