Today we’d like to introduce you to Danny Jelaca.
Danny, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I came to Miami from Chicago and Minneapolis in the early nineties to work for a celebrity colorist Johanna Stella. I worked my way to becoming styling director. Working on editorials, fashion shows, red carpet, and Miami’s elite. After the salon closed I decided to go on my own. Opening my first departmentalized high-end boutique in the prestigious south of fifth neighborhood. I hand-picked the best of the best. I opened a very elite boutique with all the bells and whistles. Becoming the best and number one in luxury haircare. Today I’m known for my celebrity clientele and my posh salon. My most recent venture is opening a full-service salon fall 2017
Has it been a smooth road?
It’s never a smooth road. But what great comes without some effort. Since this was my first salon, I had to learn to manage people. If you ask any business owner, in sure they will say the number one struggle is managing staff. I’m proud of the team I’ve chosen and I treat everyone with respect and offer a beautiful healthy environment.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Danny Jelaca Salon & Spa story. Tell us more about the business.
I’m known for my famous dry haircuts. I am a haircutting and styling specialist. I have high end colorists and treatment specialist and extension specialists. I designed my salon myself and offer a polished environment. I designed the robes and capes and have gorgeous chandeliers. I have lots of support staff so the clients feel pampered. I’m most Know for the quality of service. We do amazing work. I think what sets me apart is my heart. I am so engaged in my business. I care about everything and everyone. I love to make people feel beautiful inside and out
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I’m opening my first full service salon in the fall 2017. We will have a makeup studio, mani-pedi, waxing, facials, med spa, eyebrow, and a Private VIP room for celebrities, or anyone with a need for privacy for religious concerns.
I will be launching a new organic product line and a set of electrical tools. With this concept, I can see opening more salons in NYC and LA
