Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniela Medina and Princess Martel.
Born from a love like “the cheesy movie kind”, the Clothing Brand and Boutique Agency were created by an empowered female couple; Daniela Medina and Princess Martel.
In 2017, Princess and Daniela started The Stalker Brand (a Japanese inspired clothing brand Made in Miami) and The Stalker Creatives (a boutique design studio specializing in branding, web, design and digital marketing).
After years in the corporate, entertainment and fashion industries, these two took the leap of financial uncertainty and thrived into entrepreneurship.
The Stalker Brand and The Stalker Creatives are a melting-pot of inspiration from Miami, Japanese and Korean culture. They’re graphical, TYPO-graphical, and of course animated.
As a company, they honor history by blending what was brought forth from their ancestors with their everyday. This way, they don’t forget about the past and also welcome the future.
Welcome to The Stalkers.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When you’re trying to enter an overly saturated market, there will ALWAYS be obstacles.
The competition is fearless since nowadays everyone is a designer of some kind. The market is crawling with peeps trying to do the same thing and the rates small businesses face to pay for visibility in Digital Ads continues to skyrocket.
On the apparel side, the struggle is real with most local shops (since most of the time, they’ll want brands to work on consignment, meaning you don’t get paid until you sell, AND EVEN WHEN YOU DO, it’s only half of the net profit). What’s still mind-boggling to us, is that they will, however, spend thousands of dollars attending trade shows and buying off other National and International brands 🤔.
As an agency, we face what many professionals also face in South Florida, competing with a melting pot of immigrants (hey, no disrespect, we’re both immigrants and support the cause, but this is our truth) that due to legal status, perform the same services for a fraction of the cost. But it doesn’t stop there. Nope. There’s the self-made newbies, those without the degree, without the professional experience, but with a phone full of Instagram and re-size Apps that deliver, “Award-Winning Content Strategies”.
There are many obstacles that we have been experiencing along the way, but the above and all our struggles, have only helped us shape the business models and improve our future approach. “Knowing our worth and honoring our experience is what has kept us moving forward”. – Princess Martel
“We still have a ways to go, but as long as we remain true to our values, The Stalkers will be here for a whileeeee”. – Daniela Medina
Please tell us about The Stalker Brand | The Stalker Creatives – what should we know?
The Stalker Brand:
A clothing brand and the voice for the gender-equal, for the ever-evolving, the evanescence and for those that can simply appreciate the craftsmanship in the details.
We are known for the fabrics we use in our hand-crafted shirts (100% Japanese cotton and silk), for our OOAK (One-Of-A-Kind) shirts (made from original vintage silk-kimono fabrics) and the bold graphics we use to design our street-wear.
What we are most proud of (Brand):
Our unique and animated style.
What sets us apart (Brand):
“We handpick even the smallest details because we believe that doing things out of love means giving OUR ALL to every part of the experience so that you can “feel it” (pun intended) too. We believe in the power of communication through freedom and passion. There are no boundaries, paradigms or even rules to what makes us create”. – Princess Martel
The Stalker Creatives – As a Boutique Agency, they give Digital Solutions a whole new spin by funneling and combining: branding, content creation, organic social media and digital marketing to provide unique experiences and results for their clients.
What sets us apart (Creatives):
“We believe in the ultimate expression of ourselves and in the recreation of emotions throughout images, color, animation, and sound”. – Daniela Medina
What we are most proud of (Creatives):
How our clients react to our process, how we emphasize on attention to detail, and of course, the many badass projects we’ve had the honor of kicking-off in the past two years.
