Meet Cristhian Mancera Mejia of United Languages and Media Group and La Tribunacolus

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cristhian Mancera Mejia.

Cristhian was born on October 9, 1978 in the city of Cali. Cristhian, who currently is 39 years, resides between Colombia and the United States. He is a lawyer and political scientist from Jorge Tadeo Lozano University in Bogotá and holds a master’s degree in common law from Washington University, St. Louis MO, as well as an international certification from the University of Cambridge in the teaching of languages to adults; Master’s degree in leadership from Keizer University of Florida. Cristhian has been dedicated not only to university teaching but also to the creation of websites for participation and education in the United States. Cristhian, in 2009, created the website www.latribunacolus.com that has the purpose of promoting the renewal of leadership in Latin America and Colombia primarily. Since its creation, Cristhian has sought to open the opinion hubs not only to generate debate but engage others in the political discussion about issues that matter to the community he belongs to promoting values and principles… As a result of this effort, the Colombian government, in 2013, nominated www.latribunacolus.com as the best site of politics and democracy, ratifying those independent projects could overcome all the challenges and obstacles in order to serve the community they serve. The website is in constant growth and financed by Cristhian in its entirety in order to allow its revolution of ideas to be completely independent. La tribunacolus is the voice of ordinary citizens, who do not have a voice, and Cristhian has opened a tribune for them on latribunacolus.com

In 2015, he launched his documentary “and you, how do you perceive Colombia?” In this documentary, he wanted to allow different factions of power and ideology to debate their ideas without having to bear arms and it showed the different positions of the political tendencies in Colombia in order to reach conclusions about the future of the South American country. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEysP6wipRw

Fast English and Unitedlanguagesmediagroup.com:

In 2003, Cristhian created a language school initially called Eastern American Language Center which was based in Colombia. This school grew rapidly until Cristhian was Kidnapped and had to leave Colombia to start a new life from scratch in Miami. After moving to South Florida, and after a few years of living and adapting, he founded United Languages and Media Group to provide a new style of teaching languages. Today, this school serves a community of business and entrepreneurs in Miami as well as new learners of languages who come searching for the American Dream. United Languages fits Cristhian’s vision of offering both online and onsite courses that fit every need and every style. His focus is more one on one classes but he definitely also focuses on offering group classes to his customers. His online classes have become very popular and its clientele grows every day. Cristhian has always believed that teaching a language as well as offering any service along with community service should always be based on telling people exactly what they will get out of it without lying or trashing the competition to move forward. He prefers a steady growth than a fast one that could lead to disaster if not well managed.

In 2008, Cristhian published his book “Fast English” which became a very simple guide for people who wanted to learn the basics of the English language. To date, Cristhian has maintained his school and book tailored to a very specific type of learner and the results have been very successful. Besides teaching and writing books, Cristhian has also offered translation services to his clients especially students who need to translate their transcripts and important documents. Cristhian expects to grow with his business and provide his community of South Florida the same honest and friendly service he has provided in the past with Eastern and now with United.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road, many obstacles and difficulties, but I have always been resilient, and I never give up. Sometimes, as a small business and entrepreneur without credit and lots of capital, it is difficult to open a small business, but I have always thought no good thing comes easy, and you must work hard to achieve what you want in life. I have made a lot of personal sacrifices to get to where I have come so far, and I plan to continue moving forward in order to achieve the American dream I want for my family and myself.

When I first arrived in Miami I had to work for several language schools in order to make a living while I had enough money to start my own school. It wasn’t easy, but I kept moving forward in order to achieve my goal of having my own business again. The most difficult part was to go from being the owner of my school and business in Colombia and then having to work as a teacher to earn a living. But those experiences never made me feel less to anyone, they gave me the strength I needed to continue my search for my dream. It is not about getting to the finish line, its how you get there. Furthermore, those who start with you usually don’t end up finishing with you and enjoying the joy of reaching the goal.
