Meet Claudia Gonzalez of The RBGal in Kendall

Today we’d like to introduce you to Claudia Gonzalez.

Claudia, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Being an immigrant myself, I knew coming to the States was to be given an opportunity to make all my dreams come true if I worked hard and remained focused. A self-proclaimed geek, I found myself loving school and always wanting more and more knowledge. Three college degrees later, including two graduate degrees, I found myself having what most would consider a dream life.

A handsome and supportive husband. A beautiful and healthy baby girl. A gorgeous home. What many didn’t know, was that after the birth of my daughter, I spiraled into a deep post postpartum depression that I simply could not shake off. I began to look within in order to get my groove back. I started to find balance between a career in Public Service that I absolutely love, my family, and a social life that would truly fulfill me. As I began to see the light at the end of the tunnel… well more like I just lit the light myself… I realized I had the need to do more. I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives. I wanted to be the support that I so desperately sought during my time of hardships. Fast forward a year later, and The RBGal was born! A community of empowerment and support for fellow entrepreneurs in the making life myself. I partnered with a successful hair care company whose values aligned with mine and life has not been the same since.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Ha! Don’t we all wish? It has not, but I always tell myself that nothing worth having ever comes easy. Having a full-time career and running a company during my time not being a career woman is not easy. Making time to still be present at home is something I am still learning how to do. What I will say is that I absolutely could not do it without the tribe of loving people supporting me every single second of each day.

Please tell us about The RBGal.
I am a higher education administrator during the day and a hair fixer-upper at night! Though my company and in partnership with the number one hair care company in the world, I am able to empower women to feel good about themselves by using products that are not only healthy, but that will make them feel like a million bucks! On the business side, I am able to mentor and lead a team of over 145 women to reach their full potential. I wake up and pinch myself! I am truly thankful for every single opportunity granted to me.

What has been the proudest moment of your career so far?
It isn’t necessary a moment of my career, but it is certainly a moment that shaped my career. This is going to sound a little cliché, but having my daughter watch me cross the commencement stage for my second Master’s degree was very emotional for me. I always imagined that moment, but could not figure out how it would feel. I walked onstage and I vividly remember just looking at her. She looked mesmerized and full of love. I will never forget that moment. She will always know that she can accomplish anything she sets her mind to.
