Meet Christopher Dean Salazar

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christopher Dean Salazar.

Christopher, before we jump into specific questions about your music, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I began learning music and playing instruments back when I was about 15 years old. Through the years in my late teens, I played with a few bands and learned the ropes till my mid 20’s when I began to get into music production, mainly hiphop and rnb. It was mostly for fun with friends until I got my first popular placement with a Miami born artist by the name of “Stitches.” One of my beats made it to him and became a song on his debut album. The song was called. Remember me, which has over 6 million views on YouTube. This was unexpected but did show me that my music was good enough for the bigger stages.

I kept working day in and day out to progress my skills in making beats and production in general. I kept grinding and meeting and working with many local Miami artists. Artists such as Duivan, AglYONZ, Marcolen hayes, King Hoodie, and others. My next break came when I was introduced to the popular singer and XFactor contestant David Correy. We clicked almost instantly and went on to do a project titled ” Algo Nuevo” this project was streamed over 1 million times online. I have since kept working with David and perfecting our sound while also putting out projects with other up and coming Miami artists.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Well, to be honest, I only made music because I lived it and it was a hobby at first. Once I started to see my music reach wide audiences, it really motivated me to put in the work and time to get better. There is no doubt struggle when your up and coming musician, especially in the hip hop field, where people will work with you based on your credentials and not your skill. This never stopped me and to this day, I continue to work towards my goals as a music producer. The biggest struggle is to stand out among the thousands of other producers striving for the same goals as you.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
Well, I’m a music producer: mainly hip hop and RNB. Although I do sell my beats for profit, my main goal is always to impact music in some way. I have worked on music that has millions of plays online. Going to a YouTube video and seeing thousands of comments from fans of an artist saying how much a record has helped them get through certain times in life is its own reward. I would say what sets me apart is that I’m not a traditional beat maker but more a full music producer. I help artists to write, record and get their personality out on any song we do. This is the key to being a producer and not just a beatmaker. My extensive musical background helps in pretty much and the situation I’m in. I can go from the hardest street hip hop music to the most club sounding pop. Definitely my musical skill set is unlimited.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
They say luck is when preparation and opportunity meet. I believe if you always stay focused, you will get your shot. Failure is definitely part of the game. I’ve sent out beats that became great songs and I’ve also had artists, not like the work I sent them and nothing happen. Its a give and take and you need to learn to deal with the highs and lows.
