Today we’d like to introduce you to Christopher Corda.
Christopher, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Came to the states when I was seventeen years old, worked as a busser and a butcher in upper west side in NY, went on n to work and train in French Michelin restaurants, was part of the opening team for BayLeaf Indian Brasserie, which was the first French Indian restaurant, then tamarind, which completely changed Indian food, won Michelin star, top rated by zagat, two stars by NY times, 2011 opened saffron along with my brother, today we own and operate saffron, Rasa, Southern Spice, Mynt ion Orlando, Tanjore was a dream completely eclectic and modern menu, incorporating my grandfathers recipes and few that I learned during my French training days when I started.
Has it been a smooth road?
Opening an Indian restaurant and convincing people to try Indian with a twist has been struggling, but after a few hurdles and staffing issues we have everything in its place,
We’d love to hear more about your business.
Tanjore was a dream that we were waiting and finally we have it set and opened for people, being the executive chef and getting the sauces which are the highlight of our dishes and entrees, we are known for our seafood options like the branzino, halibut, Maui Mahi, pompano which is all locally sourced from Deerfield, what sets apart is the distinct food that we represent from regions that are completely misrepresented or never been approached
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Boca was the best place to start with, an influx of new generation with baby boomers all hailing from NY, this is what we wanted to prove ourselves, Boca sets a perfect backdrop to test your abilities
