Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Celeste Catania-Opris.
Celeste, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Since I was a child, I have always loved helping people. As I got older, I noticed people would come to me for advice and guidance, so it just seemed natural for me to become a therapist. I received my Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University. I started my own private practice in 2016 and never looked back. I have a passion for working with women dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, grief and marital issues. I am the owner of Therapy for The Modern Housewives of South Florida, a specialized private therapy practice located in Coral Springs, Florida. I am also a writer, featured in the New York Times as well as The Parklander Magazine. I write articles pertaining to new-age couples and the “Modern Housewives” of today’s world.
Has it been a smooth road?
I have gotten mixed reactions in regards to my business name. “Therapy for The Modern Housewives of South Florida” represents all modern women. Some of us have children, others do not. Some us are employed, others do not receive monetary compensation for all the work we do every day. Women must juggle countless responsibilities such as work, children, spouses, friendships, etc. while simultaneously trying to keep their sanity. This is the “Modern Housewife,” a role so commonly overlooked but undoubtedly loved and appreciated.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
The beauty and diversity of our city are so unique, so much that people from all over the world come to see it. I have heard people tell me how “lucky” I am to live here. I feel blessed to be around such diverse cultures, including such amazing food! I look forward to raising a family of my own here.
