Today we’d like to introduce you to Cary Wingard.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started at the age of 17 while assisting a professional Makeup Artist on a production gig where we were supposed to touch up some musicians as they were recording a music video, my friend at the time took me to her jobsite as an assistant and I was hooked, I knew then that I wanted to do this as a career! Two years later I was working 16-20 hrs. long production gigs and putting over 70 hrs. a week just doing makeup on Musicians, actors in Soapoperas, Models, Designers and random commercial work, at the age of 23 I transitioned into a retail career as a Beauty Specialist at Macy’s, I worked behind a Benefit counter for two years until I decided to begin my career as Freelance Makeup Artist for Cosmetic Companies such as Clarins, Nars, Smashbox, Laura Mercier, M.A.C., Lancôme, Bobbi Brown, Makeup Forever, I’ve been on the retail business for the past 9 years and during this time I’ve been slowly building my own Makeup/Hair Service Company, Kornika Makeup Artistry is my developing baby that has been growing slowly but surely for the past 5 years, all these different aspects of the beauty industry has taught me a lot since is always evolving, and I can’t wait to see what’s to come for me in the future!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has definitely been bumpy and curvy, but if hasn’t been for the different challenges that has come my way, I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for all those 18 hrs. days with no pay so I could build up my portfolio, or working with different photographers for exchange of a retouched picture, or driving hundreds of miles in one day just to make $100, dealing with talent that treat you like a servant, or working 10 hrs. on your feet 5 days a week, and so many other things that have shape who I am and what I stand for today.

My business specializes on demand Hair and Makeup services, including Beauty, Production, Runway, Bridal, fashion, Fitness and others.
I am known for my work with Fitness models and Photographers, also for stage makeup on bodybuilding competitions,
I have a saying on my business and that is “Enhancing Beauty One Pretty Face at a Time! and that’s exactly what we do!
I have a unique style of doing makeup and clients are always happy about the final results!!
