Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Carlos Wolf.
Dr. Wolf, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am a board-certified facial plastic surgeon and otolaryngologist. During my education, I loved head and neck anatomy and became an otolaryngologist. During my training, I enjoyed facial plastic surgery and the patients that I dealt with. As a result of that, I did a fellowship in facial plastic surgery and practice exclusively facial plastic surgery with surgery and non-surgical procedures as my main treatments. I enjoy educating the public and have been writing a column in the Miami Herald and Plastic Surgery for the past 15 years. In addition, I am bilingual and have been on Univision and Telemundo as their plastic surgeon educating the public as to what to be aware of when selecting doctors and treatments for themselves.
I enjoy staying in shape and spending time with my kids who are actually adults! I am now the proud grandfather of Noah.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I’ve been very fortunate that I’ve set goals and have accomplished them along the way. It took hardwork, good planning and a little bit of luck and fortunately, I am at a place where I’d like to be. I have my wife were they married to for 37 years and have been lucky that we are both on the same page with traveling, raising our kids and general ideas on life.
Tell us a bit more about your practice. What else should we know?
I specialize in facial surgery and nonsurgical treatments of the face. I have been doing this for 31 years in the Miami area.
My most gratifying accomplishment is that patients recognize that I have their best interest in mind and that I do not operate just to operate. I have had three and four generations of family members come to me and my primary mode of referral is through friends and families of patients that I have taken care of.
We always love to ask about the support network – have there been people, perhaps mentors or advisors, who have played a big role in your success?
In addition, I am proud of an organization that I built with my partner in Miami Plastic Surgery. Miami Plastic Surgery is well recognized as an ethical and top organization with wonderful people that have worked with us as a team for over 20 years.
Dr. Floyd Domer a pharmacology professor at Tulane University who I did research with and has been a part of my life since I was 19 years old. In addition, Dr. Jack Anderson a facial plastic professor who inspired me to pursue my career in Facial plastic surgery and who asked me to promise that I would always teach other physicians what I know without hesitation!
