So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My passion and love for music go as far back as I can remember. Growing up, I remember always having the radio on. Through that, I thought I wanted to be a radio disk jockey. When I graduated high school, I decided to study broadcasting and eventually became the radio station’s manager at the college I attended. During my time there, I was asked to play some music for an event on campus.
That’s when I discovered a new passion. Live deejaying for a live crowd. The feeling I got during that event was describable. During my time on campus, I played music for several events. When I left, I began to pursue a career in mobile deejaying. I did this by aligning myself with established professionals in the area. To my surprise, they were very willing to help in any way they could. During this time I discovered weddings. Everything that goes into one from top to bottom. To my surprise, the DJ plays an integral role at a wedding. My new passion really grew and I invested the money and time needed to be successful. In the last nine years, I’ve deejayed dozens of weddings and have loved every minute of it. I consider it my dream job.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
This profession isn’t the cheapest. Getting the financial means is a struggle. Also, learning all the aspects of a wedding is a challenge.

I mainly offer mobile DJ services. For weddings I mostly provide:
– 4-5 hours of music & entertainment
– Professional sound system (accommodates up to 200 people) + Backup Equipment
– Dance floor lighting effects
– Wireless Mics for toasts/speeches
– Separate sound system for ceremony & cocktail hour
– 8 Page planning form + Top 200 most requested song list
– Unlimited communication with DJ/MC upon booking
– Complete customization of event and music (Clean edited music)
– Phone or face to face planning meeting three weeks before wedding day
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I’ve been very fortunate. With all the mentors along the way and the vast amounts of opportunities that come with living in my area. I’ve definitely been very lucky.
