Meet Alina Flor of Blue Sol Yoga in Weston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alina Flor.

Alina Flor was first introduced to yoga at the age of 15 by her mother. After her first yoga class, she knew that this was her calling. She was good at it, it felt great, and it made her feel good about herself. Yoga became part of her life and her daily routine.

Alina later moved to Des Moines, Iowa to continue her education in Cardiac Ultrasound. While living in Iowa Alina developed Seasonal Affective Disorder and she ended up gaining 40lbs. She found a local yoga studio and restarted her yoga practice after a one-year hiatus. It was during this time that she realized just how important yoga was to her body, her mind and her spirit.

Overcoming Seasonal Affective Disorder and losing the weight by practicing yoga, she began teaching yoga in Des Moines. After graduation Alina moved to South Florida, where she always spent the summers with her family. After her experience in Iowa, Alina made a lifelong commitment to the practice and teaching of yoga.

In Florida, she discovered Hot Yoga. This was the turning point for Alina’s practice. She completed The Barkan Hot Yoga Teacher Training and the Hot Vinyasa Teacher Training and has been dedicated to her teaching Since 2006.

As her Yoga Journey continued Alina fell in Love with AcroYoga. AcroYoga combines partner acrobatics, partner yoga, Thai yoga body work and therapeutic flying along with building community, trust and leadership. Thai Yoga Bodywork and Acroyoga have become a healthy addition to her practice in 2009.

Following the AcroYoga path, she was certified as a Level 1 AcroYoga Teacherin 2014 and Level 2 AcroYoga teacher in 2015.

Her formal education is in Cardiac and Vascular Ultrasound. Registered as a RDCS, Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, Alina is currently working part-time in the medical field.

As her AcroYoga Journey continues she learns something new from everyone she meets. She is thankful to those who have lead her along this wonderful and healing path of “metta” Love and Kindness!! –

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There was no guide or “how to” open a Yoga studio. It was learned through trial and error. The yoga studio industry has blossomed over the last few years. Which is amazing and the more people that practice yoga the better.
