Today we’d like to introduce you to Armando Garcia Jr.
Armando, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
This business was established in 1969 by my father Armando Garcia. Primarily doing custom Kitchens, Bathroom cabinets and wall units.
He immigrated from Havana Cuba in 1962 and worked for a chain department store called Jackson Byrons until he went on his own in 1969. As I youth I worked at my father’s shop and learned the trade at a very young age. Through Jr High and high school, I worked the summers at the business. I attended Jr college a Miami Dade Downtown campus and majored in Architecture. And then transferred to FIU. While going to college I worked in Banking and rose to vice president of Facilities Management of Amerifirst Bank. After struggling through the financial crisis of the late 80’s I made a decision to come back to the family business. My father discouraged me and said that this business was a dying art. I told him that I thought we could make this business if we moved in a slightly different direction. We struggled for a few years but we’re able to see our self through some tough times. In 1996 my father turned the business over to me.
From 1996 to 2007, we had steady and stable years with minimal growth. When the financial crisis hit again in 2007 the company struggled because not much building was going on as well as people were afraid to do any work in the homes because of Job security. With the dwindling amount of skilled labor in my industry, I made a decision in 2012 to automate my operation by purchasing a CNC machine to cut all my cabinets. It was the best decision I could have made. As a result of I was able to take on more work and have had significant growth year over year. From as little as 2 employees in 2008 to 9 employees today. Our product lines include kitchens, bath, Entertainment units, custom closets. We recently moved into our 10,000 square foot facilities with increased automation.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Armando Garcia Custom Cabinets – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.

Armando’s Dad built and installed my kitchen cabinets back in 1987 and Armando, Jr. re-designed them in part in 2014. I love those cabinets, and this company’s work. Congratulations!

I have had the privilege of having Armando design, fabricate, and install kitchens, bathroom vanities, entertainment centers, and closet organizers for my wife and I. His work is outstanding, the quality is amazing and the durability unmatched. His background in Architecture shows in his designs. He did our home in Miami 17 years ago and did a second home in the keys almost 15 years ago. Guests still ask if the cabintes are new.
On a personal note, Armando is a gentlemen in the true meaning. I have and will continue to recommend him to anyone who is looking for a true craftsman who cares about his clients and stands by his work.
